Were the Jag power lock diffs fitted to Wedges as standard altered in relation to ramp angles etc? Or were they stock Jag items? I'm looking into changing my Vixen s1/Tuscan v6 diff for a taller ratio than the current 3.31. My current diff must have a jag spec power lock as it is too strong and puhes the car wide in corners where front end grip is not 100%.

You know TVR, it's unlikely they changed the internals unless absolutely necessary.
My car has a 3.31:1 LSD; when I launch hard, it always makes the rear step out to the left so I assume some difference in slippage between the two friction clutches.

standard jag spec diff certainly didnt work well in my race tasmin, was great off the line, but would lock and unlock round corners as not enough power out of the v6 or weight to make it work properly.. you need to get the modified to work.. might not be so bad with the extra torque from a v8

Thanks guys, so who can modify one to make it suit our lightweight cars?

If you blend in a bit of moly into the oil you'll reduce the friction a bit, which would be a cheap and quick fix to try - don't even have to remove it.

Molyslip. Usually not recommended for LSD's but in your case maybe it'll do the trick, after all you just need to reduce the friction a bit.... try a small amount, maybe 1cc, blended in with some diff oil before you put it in.

Whilst we're on diffs, does anyone (longshot I think) have or know of a 3.07.1 powerlock diff going for many tokens.? John.

With the cost of another diff or gear set plus the reconditioning of the lsd surely you won't be far off the cost of something purportedly better:

If they had supplied a complete diff yes.

Don't worry, I've found one, another diff that is.
