Well that was kid of the plan; the handbrake is actually floppier than Rolf Harris in the shower once you take the main pivot bolt out, it's made from pressed tin with a couple of thicker washers tacked (probably resistance-welded) inside where the clevis pin passes through. You'd have to make a tidy job of cutting and extending the side pressings and possibly add some doublers in similar fashion.So now you've proved the concept, we can weld an extension on instead? TBH the fabricated bit only weighs grammes, it's not like most wedge owners couldn't shed more weight by eating fewer pies
