Oops, that should read the only "Tasmin turbo convertible built".
Oliver.
In the time I've had my wedges, there have been two or maybe three black DHCs for sale, all of which claimed to be the 'original turbo convertible'; at least one of them was missing the data plate in the engine bay, so who knows where the real one is now...Oliver.

While we are on Tasmin turbos, here are a couple of photos of the third.
Built as a standard Tasmin S2 and the turbo was retrofitted at Blackpool later. Who will be first to spot the location?
Oliver.
I took the photo in September 1997 at John Wadman's dealership in Toronto, TVR North America. I can't now recall whether John had it returned to the factory or the customer, but I am pretty sure the it was done by the same company as the two factory built turbos, to the same spec.Built as a standard Tasmin S2 and the turbo was retrofitted at Blackpool later. These have been great pics, superb to see them :-)
Was at the David Gerald open day at the weekend and was interesting looking at all the old wedge moulds......I wondered if mine had been "born" from one of them.......who knows
Also interested to hear these old moulds will be heading back to tvr!

Hope you're well.
The two factory turbos were totally different in the engine department, FHC was based on an injection engine the DHC was based on a suck through carburettor engine. I think the DHC is now in Norway (could be wrong). The LHD S2 you've shown is similar(ish) to the FHC but the entire engine bay layout is the opposite way round, possibly to do with being LHD, but don't really see why this would need to be?
The FHC was not developed in house, but built by AVJ developments in the west midlands that specialised in this type of work.
The FHC is still going well, but a little sadly not getting as much use as it deserves as the Italian metal seems to keep taking preference, still great raw fun though
All interesting and thanks for sharing.
Chris.
Hi Chris,
Good to hear from you. My memories of the Canadian cars are a bit hazy, I will search out my diary from the trip to see if I made any notes. I had a feeling that AVJ had done this car too, but may be wrong. It is possible that the LHD conversion affected things, or maybe they had just found different ways of doing things by then. It is also possible that the car had had some work done in North America in the intervening 15 years and been altered. I am sure John Wadman's will know the details.
What's the Italian metal?
