Get a room you two!

So mine has started to blow oil out rather than drink it, at high revs and WOT. I perhaps foolishly put in a bit more the other day and now I get a plume of fumes behind me if I gun it. This behaviour has changed sine I removed and refitted the blower during my head gasket change, and cleaned out the breathers etc.

So I'm wondering if your new tank has been behaving itself over time? What about monitoring the level? (As it's not transparent.)

I was thinking of getting one of these and re-engineering it to have a top hose too, and a filler plug (probably using it upside-down, it should look pretty nifty, plus it has a sight hose to see the level easily.

Hi Adam.

This is probably why some people feed the blower with engine oil and tap the return into the sump...Although i believe the feed would need a restricter to limit the amount of fed oil.

Personally when this kept happening to me i put it down to the reservoir not being large enough to cater for the rapid expansion of the blower oil....Having an open breather didn't help either...frown

Hi adam q

I too had clouds of smoke when I gunned it!
As it sprays out oil it goes onto the manifolds and smokes like mad.....
I took it for a spin without a bonnet and yes oil all over the windscreen....that was clever!

Since the mod it's been great none of the oil comes out no smoke all good!!!!

I check the levels each time I go out, it doesn't use anywhere near the oil it used to.

I also did the grease and drained the old oil.
