That's probably because they were the wrong bushes for the application: the original ones were those shown at right, same as used for the trailing arm... a Metalstik 17/404 if memory serves. Not that the number will help you now: Trelleborg owns the Metalastik brand and doesn't list that part number OR a similar bush with those dimensions. It was also used on the Lotus Esprit trailing arm (in which application it lasts forever) but even Lotus specialists sell replicas now as the originals are deceased.

Thanks Zig, not too harsh over bumps etc?

Also anyone know what the bush is that goes into the diff cradle at the front, and attached to the chassis please?
Sorry missed this... I think, maybe, possibly, perhaps... this could be the same bush as used for one end of the A-frame' cars' tie-rod.
In which case good luck, if you ever find out what it was from I'd be first in the queue to buy some!
If you can hang a tape measure, slide rule or CMM on it and it looks a bit like 12.7x40x35mm (bore, OD, width) then it is the same one. It's odd because it has Metric OD and width but a half-inch bore.

Sounds a billy bargain to me. Looking forward to the rebuild photos. Hope all the TET bits and pieces arrive safely and the rebuild is painless. Cheers.
Much appreciated Keith, a bit of an adventure for sure, plus a learning curve! Wouldn't even attempt it without the forum.
