Are they mounted on the inlet manifold or front of the block? I've got two spare 3.5 inlet manifolds so if the stat is on there, and the housing is the same as the 4.0l then I should have a spare????????

Paul, I've checked the two spare inlets I've got and both have the same stat housing as picture. On my 350i the outlet is approx 10 o'clock as I look at the front of the engine. The two spare housings have the outlet at approx 2 o'clock.

If one is of any use then let me know and I'll post it over but I'm guessing it's the wrong orientation?

I have a couple of those, they look to be a shocking bodge at the foundry - as if they were meant to work one way but then the pattern was lashed-up to create this monstrosity!
I cut one and re-welded it so that the outlet stub pointed to the left but I didn't get the angle quite right and the hose wasn't a good fit.
I'm not even sure that the one used on most of the V8 Wedges is actually original-fit for the RV8 but borrowed from another engine...

Get it sorted OK?

This is the one I cut and re-welded; I found it tonight whilst rummaging for my missing locking wheel nuts...
