Can anyone help me with pictures of how their relays and fuses are mounted to the bulkhead of their wedge please? The relays in my 400SE just hang as a block from the wires. From the pieces of plastic I found in the footwell, it looks like there were originally plastic legs at each corner that have snapped under the weight of the relays. Any help on how to attach the relays would be appreciated.

Sounds very similar to mine. Mine is a 350i but with a 400SE bulkhead and 4 clock dash. The fuse/relay board is held in via a bloody great cable tie. Not pretty but does the job. I'll get a photo over the weekend. Cheers.

Funnily enough I've just been working on Wedge electrics tonight (not mine)... the fuseboard and relay panel plus the wiring loom were about the tidiest I have ever encountered on a TVR!
Yes, the relay panel was originally mounted on pillars; the relay sockets themselves slot together to create a panel of whatever size is required and the pillars slot into the same grooves. You can usually reinsert them if they've just pulled out, as long as the dovetail edges are still intact.

The only pillar I have has snapped and the other three are missing. I can't find anywhere that sells new ones so I was wondering how other people mounted their relay boards. There must be a way of supporting the weight and keeping the relays out of the way of the ECU mustn't there?

Not so much for really sealing or waterproofing but to keep stuff separate, organized and/or mounted, I've used plastic (small) boxes with access holes cut in them and then screwed/bolted them to something. I've also BJ welded or epoxied inside the box if needed (as in to replace a post). Grady

As someone else said, I've seen a big cable tie used to strap the entire relay board to the back plate that the ECU flap hinges on! There shouldn't be any issue with even the metal-canned relays actually touching the ECU as the cans are isolated from any potential.

If Ripaults or Lucas or whoever made the clip-together relay sockets no longer supply the standoffs I guess you're into DIY territory wink

Mine was exactly the same the ecu cover used to fall down on its own, bit of a surprise for the passenger!

I Made two brackets out of 2x20mm ally strip bent into a long L shape and pop riveted them to the fuseboard sides. Two screws hold these to the plywood bonded into the shell. It's a lie on your back with feet on the parcel shelf job to put it all back but a least it keeps the wiring where it belongs

Mine has two large cable ties holding it to a bracket...I think its a plate with a lip on the top and bottom and a slot for a cable tie at each end...

Not sure if this is any help.

There are mounting brackets in the fuse section along with more bits but they would need a re wire I think?

Car in the garage at the moment so no picky.

Edit. These as well.
