Well last Thursday I was heading home for a long weekend - had to fly off that night (nowhere exotic, just Glasgie!) and the wedge didn't want to start at first, so I wired across the coolant temp sensor, just about got it going, but it wasn't happy and wanted to cut our several times on the way home.

To be fair I had been nursing an intermittent misfire for a few weeks which I should have sorted out.

Anyhow I tried fiddling with the rotor arm which seemed to help but only a little, then replaced the dizzy cap with a spare, and now it's running pretty sweet again - phew! I think I'll tray and get another rotor arm but will look for a proper lucas one to be on the safe side.

I have ordered spares of dizzy cap, rotor arm, CTS and another rotor arm ;^) just in case well they can go in the boot if not needed. And a set of spark plugs - B7ECS.

Incidentally I found the CTS seems the same as LR ERR2081/Bosch 0280130026 - the Bosch one has an identical resistance/temperature table. If you buy the Landy one it's only £4.75 delivered. And none of that nasty "plastic nut" business.

Two leprechauns are talking..One says to the other..."I went to see the doctor this morning cos i didn't feel that well"..The other one ask's..."What did he say then"..The first leprechaun
replies.."He said I'm a knee mick".....(No malice or derogatory meaning was meant by this and was purely intended to be "tongue in cheek" humour)..Although I'm not as i was wearing grade "S" for shyte latex thinner than a flies foreskin powdered coated examination gloves...Eeewwwaaahhh...I wouldn't want to examine anything other than my Wedges bits...hurl

My Wedge seems to know when the Fest is approaching and starts sulking. Last year I missed attending due to an electrical issue that turned out to be the immobiliser. This year the AFM has been intermittently playing up....though it's been behaving itself recently, fingers crossed she behaves herself! rolleyes

Yeah I know what you mean - things seem to crop up just before the fest, Best thing is to bring it anyway - limp it there if necessary - then your fellow wedgers can help you fix it!

Anyhow mine is running much better with the new/old dizzy cap - just a very occasional beat missed - so I shall fit the new one and keep this as a spare just in case.

Now cut out again this time on the way back from work.

During curring out:

- had full spark to king lead
- had spark to spark plug lead end
- had pressure in fuel rail

So it must be ECU or injector-related.

After bridging the CTS plug it came back to life. The ECU has been reflowed though. Will take multimeter with me for more diagnostics for next time.

Could be earth straps so will give these a once over too.

Why is it these things happen just before we have decent planned TVR events? Pottering back and forth to the office never an issue but whenever there's something special planned then they break down. Think they must pick up on our positive enthusiastic vibes and put us down a peg or two.

Yeah - I do have an isolator but when that gets loose it doesn't even turn over!

All my bits are here now so they will go on tonight. And a spare ECU in the boot - belt and braces...
