Hi Peeps ...Talk about stick to your guns...Originally i wanted to go to Martin who has looked after us for the last couple of years and who's food is amazing...He was at the White horse Inn but that has been bought up by someone else and Martin has been located here.
Ferry in Alveston, CV37 7QX

Now i was trying to book the Chequers for the 7.30pm slot and was given until Saturday last to confirm...I rang on Friday to do so and was told they were fully booked..Thanks for nothing Kirstin..With an "I"....
Then i was speaking with the new partners who own the White horse now and their licence won't be issued until Sunday 5th but were considering a private function however I'm still waiting for them to get back to me even after chasing them up for the last 6 days..So i won't be holding my breath on that one...

So i called Martin last night to see if he could cater for us at such short notice and he said "Of course"..He was thrilled as he loves cooking for us...

He has:

Seating for 20 people inside or out depending on the weather..Now there is a risk of a thunder storm and heavy downpours on Friday night from around 9pm but hey my Wedge don't melt in the rain..Delilah used to...smile

Im driving to it and will have a spare seat..I think Dominic will have also...We can sort out a mini bus or taxi service...Or its Macky D's......hurl

Trust me its well worth the 7 miles journey...So come on be adventurous..Its all part of the fun.

Here is the menu so please take a look and let me know what you would like ..(Preferably by this evening) so that he can have everything for us...Im well looking forward to the lamb henry..That was and still is the best bit of lamb i have EVER eaten...(Sorry mum)...My humble apologies for all the faffing around but it was out of my hands...

Thanks Dom...Yeah i forgot..Sorry...I will have to book a mini bus or two which will probably be around £10 per person there and back...TBH it would use less petrol and is far more stylish if we drive there in our Wedges, 14 miles all round..(£6.50 fuel in a 350i)..Im going to leave the drinking until I'm back at the hotel..We don't have to get pished at the pub...But if you do then i will book a taxi for you...But i need to know ASAP...I will take Oliver..Unless someone else wants to?

Mind you i can't go getting sloshed as I'm up the crack of dawn on the Saturday morning...Although she don't know it yet...hehe

Hi Mark

I'm leaving late on Friday, so won't be at the Chase until after this, so don't worry about me - I'll make my own arrangements.

Much as that menu looks appealing, I might see if we can get in at the Chequers on our own, as driving / cabbing wasn't something we wanted to do. Failing that, we might eat in the hotel.

Sorry about the involved driving or cabbing it but i had no other choice for a party booking..If i had known it was going to be this much hassle i probably would of asked the hotel to cater for us....

I have until 5pm today to let Martin know as regards to food..Not sure how I'm going to check this post as i haven't the room for my iMac ...Cheers...Ziga

Hiya Mark - we're in!

Setting of from Cumbria in the next few hours cool
Happy to drive there rather than mini bus.

Ribeye steak for me (well done)
Pork Belly from the specials for Bronwen

Should be at the Chase late afternoon. What time do you have in mind for the meal?

Martin
