Not the ropey ones. Only the good ones are going up. The rest just look cheap, until you buy it and realise a fortune needs to be spent on it to bring it up to standard. Then, they're worth money.

About right for cars in that condition...To be fair most of the cars of this age will need money spent on them if they haven't had already...I wouldn't call them ropey...Just unloved.

Sorry. Just the unloved ones. Ones needing TLC.

Saying that there is a really nice looking chimp with the Tuscan headlight conversion and a rear light conversion that i like the look of...Its under 50,000 miles and is under 7K....Another TVR model that will get snapped up for investment...

Hopefully when the new TVR's are unveiled in 2017 it will trigger a catalyst for a trend in rising values which i should imagine will start with the early classics and then extend along the TVR chain of models......Including the Wedge...

However i must say if and when i ever see a new TVR on the road and for whatever reason its broken down then i will stop...Point and piss myself laughing...Just like i do when i see modern cars broken down..Although i normally shout out..."You should of bought a TVR"....biggrin

Actually it's mine.......if there was a plan for it involving a Scimitar then it wasn't anything to do with me.

I've got a 350i FHC that I want to concentrate on, and I can't see me using the wedge as a daily, so it's for sale. I'm not desperate but I could do with the space, the money and without having to worry about it.

It's obviously not in pristine condition - but the price reflects that I think - the big question is whether a buyer would look at it and reckon that for 3k more he'd get a car that needed less doing to it.

Here's hoping...........

Hi Peter, personally I think it's a good price for the condition as per photos and length on the MOT. Also red is a very popular colour. Good luck with the sale. Some photos on the FHC progress would be interesting. Cheers.

To be honest when you get up close it doesn't look as good as it does in the photos - but it still looks OK from a few feet away and it's an MOT'd runner.

The FHC I hope to start on in earnest pretty soon - doors, mirrors and window frames are going to be first and I'll be posting pics.

Hi mate...I know it wasn't you, Im sure it was about two years ago..I remember the reg for some reason...If it was the same car it was going to get chopped up to much protesting from us and used in a kit car project, I think the guy actually found a scimitar to use as the kit was based on one...

The price is about right...If someone were to spend that again on it then they would have a car that is worth slightly more than what it cost...If they could do most of it themselves then even better.

They are an investment...Just most of us over 50 probably won't see the fruit of our labours...But hey if we have helped to save a hand built British sports car for the future to appreciate then our work was not in vain....smile

I've heard that line ever since I bought my Tasmin in 1995/6 and my 390SE in 2000... still waiting.

I've never seen/heard of a wedge that has been converted back to a manual steering rack. Is the pas system that bad? My previous wedge being the 200 had a manual rack.
