I am not an expert either but this is what I do to reduce the size of picture.

1. Go to the picture you want to resize.
2. Right click on picture and choose edit.
3. The picture will come up full size with a bar on top. From that top bar choose image and then resize.
4. horizontal and vertical size of picture will come up as 100%. Halve them to 50% each and click ok. The image in question has now been halved in size and will load up.

I hope that helps.

Hi mate...Ideally you need a piece of software that can reduce the resolution...You might be able to save at a different resolution depending what you have ...A PC or Mac?....Unless anyone knows a simpler way?

I have Faststone Image viewer which is a free download and can edit and re-size photos. Try downloading it and then all should become clear.

Other option if you have later Windows 7 software is to open photo then go to bottom left of screen and click on the Windows icon and select "snipping tool". Highlight the photo, select the section of photo you want to display, then "save as" in jpeg format the view which will be lower resolution, but good enough for PH. Then upload the saved "snipped" image. Simples.
