Polished Alloy Roof Stays - Who wants some
Discussion
I too would be interestsd if you make them the same size and strength as the originals. I would then sell my Griff/Chim ones to a Griff/Chim owner who needs a set as my ones are in very good condition. That way, it would save me having to drill new holes to fit them as yours would just bolt on.

Me and a friend are going to knock up a copy of the Griff/Chim polished alloy roof struts/stays.
Was wondering whether anyone else would be interested in a pair if they come out well, going to try and get them as close to original as possible.
We think with time, materials and tooling they would be about £200 which I think is less than originals?
Thoughts?
If you want to sell them...reduce your price by 50%. £200 is way too much money IMO.Was wondering whether anyone else would be interested in a pair if they come out well, going to try and get them as close to original as possible.

I would not usually rise to such a comment "IN YOUR OPINION" BUTI am not making them to sell them I am making them because I want a set and they are expensive as originals. A lot more than £100. To make them requires time, materials, prototypes and new tooling, where I live nothing is free.
Having made them if anyone else would like a set thats purely their decision.
If however you can make them for £100 then knock your socks off GV and front up a set for the world to see?

I have some 400SE ones and Griff ones, So can look into coping them in ali. and working out a price.
But won't have time until middle of march.
Quote to add, the cost of the parts would be about £100 esp as they would be solid due to small quantities required. so £200 for a pair is not a bad price, no doubt if I made them price would about the same. but have a lathe and mill and press and experience, and existing ones to copy length. But won't have time until middle of march.
I think its a fair price...Although i have other things to spend the money on at the moment...IIRC the original ones were nearly that each, I did try to buy a set once...Second hand and scratched to buggery and they wanted 350 smackers for the pair..Which they sold for on Fleabay....
