Hi Tony...My apologies if i made any derogatory comments...Sounds like its going to be painful letting go but it is still a car at the end of the day and life goes on....Memories are all we are left with so at least you have some good ones surrounding it...smile

We are all just custodians of these beasts......Im thankful that i have had the privilege...Even though she's just a scabby 350i.....I love her....

Guys, Please don't post too much info on this car otherwise the thread will get removed as an advert!

Sorry, but rules are rules across all forums.

Certainly was Jim in the vid. He says he doesn't do PH so probably won't have seen your post. I am still in touch with him if you need contact details... I remember your car back then before he emigrated.

I wonder whatever happened to his seac

Fine memories.

Dave

Dave. (Which Dave. Do I know you) Jim sold his SEAC for £25000 back in he late 1990s. Not long after the SEAC day. It was D849OOM. I've never seen it since but it had a rare early serpentine engine. I have the engine number in my loft if you need it.

By the way my email was blown away this morning. 😱

I knew Jim well back in the day, before he emigrated. Had the odd ride in his SEAC as well.

Yes Wyn I got your mail. Nice to hear from you. Sounds like like a real fast Chim with a 450 John Eales Engine.
I'm going to attend to all the emails I've had over the weekend.

With regards to my SEAC, I'm considering that I might do the right thing and get it restored ASAP. I've just called Richard Thorpe and asked him what could he do with a 12 months and £20k. He said it'd be immaculate for that amount. 100 point concourse.

So hold fire whilst I think and reply to everyones emails.

Its good to see that the Wedge community is still live and well. Who knows in 12 months time D662YLP could be back snorting flames out of its exhaust like the good ole' days.

Sounds like the right plan to me if you can afford it. Rare car with special memories and certainly you're not going to loose money on it in the future. Not jealous one bit - honest!

Wedgeman - Just been to the White Elephant website. I've been on and off it whilst you had the car in pieces. Just noticed it was Richard Thorpe who did your chassis. Nice job too.

KKson - Yes its time and money... but I've been considering it for a number of years. I'm competent enough to rebuild the old Gal myself given time, but at present I just don't seem to have any. Money won't be the issue.

I really wanted to do the rebuild myself to be honest. I love nothing more than fettling with an angle grinder and welder. But with the pace of life it looks like I may have to get someone else to do it. And who better than Richard Thorpe.

Sounds like a good plan...It will be ready for BBWF 2017 which will be an even bigger and better event than this years Biggest Baddest Wedge event of 2016 as we will be celebrating the 70th Anniversary of TVR....Its gonna be colossal ....party...smile

Nooooo! The clue was in the next sentence,'as he already has an almost completed project'.

Hi Tony - Richard Thorpe not only refurbished the White Elephant chassis for me, but he also did my 400SE, Tasmin race car, Tuscan race car and S3 chassis too. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

If you are coming to the Wedge Fest please make sure to say hello and I will be happy to give you the 10 cent tour... thumbup

Good to see you Tony back on here after such a long layoff, despite the rights or wrongs of the original author of the post and the pictures going on here albeit for a short time I think it's pricked some good intentions and will hopefully put a halt to the rot setting in in that place and which ever way you decide to go I hope the car will be back to its former glory because I can't forget the time you pulled off my drive with the flames and the pops and bangs from the exhaust was unforgettable and needs to happen again.

Since 1991 Richard Thorpe at RT Racing has completed dozen upon dozen of wedge projects including many SEAC restorations. And of course he contributed greatly to the re-birth of the White Elephant. Indeed Richard's own 450 won numerous TVRCC concourse competitions in its own right. He also built two Turbo Tasmin race cars, nine V6 Tasmin race cars and the mighty Thorpedo to name but a few.

He is also the guy certain Wedge owners ring when they are stuck and need a little bit of help... hehe
