Yes Wyn I got your mail. Nice to hear from you. Sounds like like a real fast Chim with a 450 John Eales Engine.
I'm going to attend to all the emails I've had over the weekend.

With regards to my SEAC, I'm considering that I might do the right thing and get it restored ASAP. I've just called Richard Thorpe and asked him what could he do with a 12 months and £20k. He said it'd be immaculate for that amount. 100 point concourse.

So hold fire whilst I think and reply to everyones emails.

Its good to see that the Wedge community is still live and well. Who knows in 12 months time D662YLP could be back snorting flames out of its exhaust like the good ole' days.

Glad to hear it!! Well done that man.. smile

There is a man that can tell us how much it would cost to rebuild one of these
yes Richard Thorpe at RT Racing
Nooooo! The clue was in the next sentence,'as he already has an almost completed project'.

Tony. TCB.
Since 1991 Richard Thorpe at RT Racing has completed dozen upon dozen of wedge projects including many SEAC restorations. And of course he contributed greatly to the re-birth of the White Elephant. Indeed Richard's own 450 won numerous TVRCC concourse competitions in its own right. He also built two Turbo Tasmin race cars, nine V6 Tasmin race cars and the mighty Thorpedo to name but a few.

He is also the guy certain Wedge owners ring when they are stuck and need a little bit of help... hehe
Agreed. DIY restos are all very well and have their place, but for something special (or indeed unique) going to a recognised professional and expert in that field is really the best option (unless of course someone is looking to move the vehicle on afterwards, in which case that may be the deciding factor - and I am not referring to the current SEAC under discussion here).

I think this has been an interesting thread and has showen just how passionate they are about wedges and particularly this SEAC.

It sounds great that the current owner is planning to restore back to its formal glory and RT Racing will do it loud and proud.

I personally would love another SEAC to play with.....and the video with the cars back in 94, would be good to redo some think like that again.

Tony420 you said yoou have all records for the SEAC's, just wondering what you may have on mine. smile

Well it looks like the car will be made good after all which is great.
Wooly350i - Not sure how I've done wrong though as I genuinely was interested and and would never have placed anybody else's details etc on public pages. I'm glad my original post has stirred up the interest and hopefully got the car back to former glory - whoever the owner is.

I think Tony was at first just a bit miffed that his car was suddenly in the limelight which is how I interpreted it but I did write rightly or wrongly and we all interpret things differently, in retrospect any petrolhead with an interest that saw a car like that would probably post it up too,me included as we wouldn't know any different, but he posted an interesting specification list with some history afterwards which got removed by admin, but yes I think the publicity has hopefully done the car a favour so fingers crossed all's well that ends well, if all the bells are ringing the same tune I'd love to see Richard with the recommissioning work as he knows the cars inside out.

OH ... I also have the entire SEAC data base on cards from the factory as compiled by Jim Gamsby. Its somewhere in my loft with the original SEAC Sales brochure stuff and original dealers price lists. Some rare material.
Hi Tony -
When you next stumble on the SEAC database, could you see what's there on my car, last UK Reg E950LLN, Chassis ...JB019199 built March 1988 ? It's the black LHD. I believe that it was at the SEAC day.
Thanks !

I'd be glad to...

If you'd PM me, I can supply a lot of history, prior owner info, to fill in almost all the database items on theseacpages.com, you may decide some prior owner stuff shouldn't be published (as some of the prior owners weren't posting anything about their ownership, or even joining PH)

E754FLL is the 420 SEAC I'm looking for. It's a red one and was owned by my brother in law in 1988/89. Originally owned by a lady then bought by my brother in law. It seems to have completely disappeared. Any info on this car please ???

Hi Drew
Not had chance to get up in the Loft yet. Busy with work. As always. I do know a lot about E950LLN. Even the ancient history of it going out to Qatar. Then it being discovered in the corner of a factory in the South of England. Then Martin Price Buying it. Plus the Clutch Change. I'll have to dig it our for you.

E754FLL - That rings a bell too. Especially the 1st owner being a lady. When I sort out my loft I'll take a look. If there's too much to email, I'll scan or photograph it and send it on to you and Dave S

Great news to hear you may restore your SEAC.. have had lots of work done with Richard, can't recommend him highly enough.

'If' you dig any records out.. and you come across D175 ALL, I would be interested. wink

Will also follow up with Alan's suggestion.. hadn't considered the DVLA

Cheers

Wayne, you're way out of date - the TVR Mogul AKA Glen has bought it and is very rapidly getting to grips with it. Check out Glens posts on PH, Facebook and possibly the Solihull gazette.;)

Only late because you're out enjoying your SEAC. (Note slight tone of jealousy!). Cheers.
