Hi Peeps....Well the day came where i had an appointment with Wroxall Abbey and Topcats Racing...Bit eventful which is ironic..Left home this morning at 5am.

Smoothly got through most green lights...Got into London at around 05.45am and on to the M40

The sun was now showing its face and what a lovely morning it was...The journey should of taken 2.5 hours but i got there in 1.5 smile

It felt like i was going to EC for a minute and it made me ponder a bit...Then i turn in here
https://youtu.be/hZ1F8TVJvWU
That rotational noise is my speedo needle flapping around!..Another job!
My impressions of Wroxall are stunning...Im really looking forward to it...

Seeings as i was so early i went for a wander

11th century monastery...The Abbey has a lot of history...Some of it you wouldn't believe!...In fact i would say "Bizarre"

There is apparently where a troll lives and its a definite no go area!...Unless you like trolls that is smile

This is ours..My room is the one at the top..It has mesh on the window to stop any birds getting in...Bit disappointed really as i would love to pull one

Now close you eyes and listen...This is what it sounds like first thing in the morning...
https://youtu.be/QlzzCjTZ4bc

We can use the area outside for breakfast or dinner...Actually talking about breakfasts...
I had arranged to meet with Howard so we settled down to a breakfast...I forgot to take a pic of that but Howard didn't..(Thanks Howard)smile

The sausages were lovely actually...I think they were the Abbeys own...The bacon was crispy..The beans were baked...The mushrooms were juicy and the egg scrambled...

My meeting with Gemma Williams was very pleasant, She is a very nice lady who loves the cars..And loves meeting the people who own them.

The hotel is clean and well presented...Some of the rooms are small but cosy..They do have a feel that you are staying in a friends place which i actually felt comfortable in...Overall though i think its fantastic...Its an experience and i think you will like it too...smile

Then i was off to Topcats racing to meet with Charlotte...
The route is not too bad and doesn't have too many snag points where a convoy will get split up, Im looking into a way of avoiding that anyway.

There are some stunning cars there and its plenty big for what we need...I didn't take any pics as i want to save it for you to see.

So heres looking forward to 8th-9th July 2016.

beer

Thanks

Ziga

Hi Mark, all looks good to me and I'm there to see, smell, talk and drive Wedges. The fat boy breakfast is a bonus! Cheers.

HI Mark.

You ought to be a Journo !! or a mystery shopper type person for hotels etc... haha, a great write-up.

Hotel looks stunning, grounds look amazing and the breakfast looks filling. However, do they serve any other type breaky - not eating the fryups at the mo. frown

Thanks for the kind words ..For me happiness comes from within and not from what we posses..Our possessions are trinkets of our labours and we have to leave them behind when we go...Yes I'm a bit of a joker most of the time but serious when i have to be.

A lot of people have put their trust in me so i will always endeavour to honour it...I will never forget that TVR was my salvation after a long term illness and the people i have met on this journey are amazing so its the least i can do...smile

I think Poppy was a bit reluctant to go because the only time she ever goes anywhere near Warwickshire is to meet up with loads of her brothers and sisters and she knew they wouldn't be there yet...So despite the light pod hanging out and the chipped screen her little ears perked up when we got there..She was really excited as you can see in the vid when she bolted a couple of times...I rained her in and parked her up...She was still smiling nearly 5 hours later when it was time to leave..She did get a bit stroppy when it was time to go, Especially leaving Topcats...But i got her home at around 6pm and put her to bed...

There are some finer details that I'm addressing but all in all i think its a great venue.

And we have our own bar...In fact if we manage to fill the place which is a possibility going by how quick rooms have sold and are still selling then we will have the whole place at our disposal...Perfect!..It will also be less embarrassing if i sleep walk at night, Especially in my BD suit...vomit......smile

Got some serious negotiation to do with the weather gods yet but i think they are finally getting a sense of humour and are looking forward to my offerings....However you'd be better off drawing with it than eating it...Unless charcoal is edible??....laugh

Cheers

Hi Mark,

Amazing amount of work you have put into organizing the event.

Looking forward to meeting everybody, especially you - but not in your BD suit!

Wilf.

Cheers Wilf...Likewise smile Don't worry about my BD suit...I have learnt to fall asleep with my clothes on just in case....So if you see me aimlessly wandering about in the early hours just point me at the bar....smile

I thought the rusty nails kept you affixed to the bar - or under it. smile
