Diagnostics help/advice in Hampshire
Discussion
Hi all.
I wonder if any of you could help.
I bought my Cerbera from a mate a few months back. He had stripped the back end down for new bushes and powder coating but due to commitments got no further and it sat in his garage for a couple of years.
I've got it all back together and starting and driving etc but It had a few other issues I have been working through, one of them being that it's running rough.
My mate told me he had had it diagnosed as a lambda but could not remember what side.
I have got two new ones ordered but I am trying to confirm if I need to reset the ecu after fitting or not ( I have searched but not found definitive answer)
Any ideas??
Also is there anyone in Hampshire who may be able to help me with reset/diagnostics as I do not have a laptop to use?
Thanks all for any help.
Steve

No you do not, the diagnostic software is not what I would call though. But, its good enough for what it needs to do.
You can just swap them over and they will be fine. I recommend you have a good look at the manifolds, I have found that an awful lot of them crank after so much heat cycling, an easy fix with a good tig set. Where two cylinders meet on one side, the branch cranks at the intersection around the back, this will go a LONG way to making your car run VERY rich as the lambda sensors are only narrowband and can only sense lambda 1 with any degree of accuracy.
You could argue that resetting the adaptive maps can help, but the car will soon learn new fueling.
Good luck and welcome!

Thanks guys for the replys.
My manifolds have been replaced along with decats and cat back sports system so hopefully not cracked but I will check when under there.
I will look for the app but I'm on Apple so not sure if it will work. Might just buy a ch app laptop.
I am based near Fareham in Hampshire.
Thanks again.

Fareham - so virtually Portsmouth.
Any old laptops where you work? Something with a serial port and Windows XP is perfect. Usually these are getting scrapped now. I'll keep an eye out at work
I use a Dell Latitude D630. I think for overkill I saw someone had put a tv in the garage and had full 42" diagnostics display

Tbh for ease and portability I'd buy an Android tablet and get the app.. Perfect for keeping an eye on things whilst driving etc..My manifolds have been replaced along with decats and cat back sports system so hopefully not cracked but I will check when under there.
