Aluminium Radiator
Discussion
Hi mates,
anyone here who has some experience with the Radtec/ACT aluminium rads. Although the say it's the original design the connections are not the same. The pipe for the expansion tank is missing and the thread for the fan switch is near the outlet hose. Will it fit like the original rad ? Any experience ?
Cheers
Bernd

Hi Bernd...I only have experience of Radtec alloy rad for my 280i....That was correct in its fitment...The Wedge V8 rad was from a classic Range Rover V8 efi...Its the same one as was fitted to the pre-serp Griff...I had one for mine and the otter switch was up on the top right corner and i had it welded up and an overflow put on, The plan was to put a thermostatic coupling on to control the fan.
Hopefully someone who has bought a V8 alloy rad from ACT may be more of use...
Cheers

Hi Bernd,
I have the alloy rad from ACT and it is fitted with the pipe for the expansion vat. I emailed them to ask them to fit a boss for the otterswitch under the inlet pipe. The picture on their website is not from the right rad but just a general image. Best is to email them and express your wishes. If they don't respond to your mail try timlamont@gmail.com.
Cheers

I think ACT use the one from RadTech. but not 100%,
I got a RadTech a long time ago back then they only did a griff one, but is the same size, I was changing all the hoses anyway.
I had to adapt the brackets slightly to make it fit as the corners are square and the origonal was round (had to cut 2 small holes)
AFAIK now they do one for a wedge that should be a straight fit.
The new style otter switch is a lot better, you may need to order this on top, just make sure you get an connector and just re-wire the old one, they work the same.

loads of good reviews, cheaper than the usual suspects and service second to none.
