Tracking did receive attention after the ball joints were replaced to cure the wheel camber.
Hi John...Are you saying that it was tracking or 4 - wheel alignment that was done...There is a massive difference...If its coming from the side that had too much positive camber then i would investigate further...If the ball joint was that bad and the car had been driven like it for a while....Probably pre-assembly then it may of caused abnormal wear on other parts...Drop-links..Control arm/Leading link to chassis...I do recall when i had Delilah' geo done the N/S wheel would rub badly on the inside of the wheel arch...I had to actually have it offset slightly....Also none of the Wedge bodies were that accurately straight anyway....Ziga

Thanks Mark. No, it was a straight forward front wheel tracking. The problem was a rouge ball joint previouly fitted and when compared with the oposite side the mounting holes were a 1/4" out. I have to say the handling is great, no evidence of "crabbing" etc. Wesley going in the direction he's aimed at. It's just this noise getting to me. It's more of a roughness. Consensus of opinion is leave it until it gets worse. I keep thinking rear wheel bearing? Cheers John C.

Hi John...Can you jack up each side and check by spinning the wheel...You should hear a wheel bearing if its that bad..You may even see whats doing it if it is the front....Ziga

Agreed Mark, I did think it was the N/S front wheel bearing and replaced it. No effect. The car at the moment is up on axle stands. Front wheels perfect no play or noises. The rear the same. Running the car in gear under no load does give the usual transmission noises expected under no load. U/J's are the next area for attention. I have noticed that the only joints fitted with grease points are the outer rear U/J's? I have had a worn joint on another car and it felt that the prop shaft was going to join me in the car? J C.

The prop should have a grease nipple...(ooo missus)...I had a prop UJ fail just as i came off a motorway doing 80 sph...Lucky it didn't go whilst i was driving..The car was shaking badly at low speeds...I do remember feeling a rumbling vibration weeks before...Just don't give up until you find it...leaving anything to get worst is not good mate.....Do you have splash guards on the front hubs...Or dust guards....?

Just normal back plates/dust guards Mark. A little unusual not to have grease points on the rear prop U/J? Unless the previous owner fitted the sealed for life units. Further "grovelling" underneath I think. J C.
