Good thinking Mark, but the car hasn't been roadworthy for 25 years. The advertiser doesn't own it, and the owner is talking about breaking it for the right parts. Good luck with that one.

Good idea about wedgefest. Plan was to visit after the visit to the Tasmin. The man is supposed to be the uncle of the adverter. By mail I asked for phone number but hè declined stating he is hard hearing. I asked if he could get it MOT'd and wheter I could drive it to Holland. Only answer I get is that he insists on visiting the car.

Does not sound like a scam, but more like old man selling, but you never know. I used to be fraud inspector so won't be fooled quick.

I'll ask about driving to Westfest, otherwise come by public transport. Are there still rooms?

You might be lucky on the Friday and Sunday too...I don't think anyone is staying on the Sunday but i will see if i can negotiate a discount if needed...Where would you be coming from as far as a lift is concerned?....

Landing Birmingham on friday, go see red (Birmingham) or blue (Wales) Fhc, by bus or so. Understanding you make trips at wedgefest, than lift? Since plane leaves early morning, stay sundaynight.

Hans, be very careful that this red car is not a scam. This advert doesn't sound quite right to me. He says it was off road for 25 years but it had an MOT for one year last year. Has he got a log book? Do a HPI check before you go to see it. It's not his car and his uncle could be anybody. Be careful as if something is wrong you may not be able to take it out of the country and loose your money.

The blue car sounds better to me as it is earlier and original and will be more valuable when finished. It needs a lot of work though and can't be driven back.

If you do come over I'm sure Mark will do his best to help you out. He likes helping fellow Wedgers. All the best and good luck.

Thans Elvis,

The more I think about the red one, the more I get bad feelings.

The blue one seems driveble to Holland, Why do you think not? What do you think Neede to be done all?

Mark ideed really helpfull, get good feeling with the wedge people, verry different from my experiences so far.

Thans, Hans.

Hans, the blue car seems much better but needs work. It says chassis and engine is good and he has log book and sounds genuine. You can't drive it back because tyres are no good and it needs water pump and maybe other things too. Best thing to do is get somebody living nearby to look at car. If it is good, hire a trailer and drive over to collect it. This car is early and rare. There is a lot of interest in cars fhc of this year. The time and money you will spend will be worth it as at the end you will have a very rare and immaculate car and you will thank me.

Yes, having it fixed in England is an option but TVR specialists charge a lot of money and could work out expensive. If money is no object then that would be a good solution. Mark, (MrZigazaga)will be able to advise you of any specialists local to the area as he knows the UK and TVR specialists like the back of his hand.

Hi Hans.

I will be leaving on the Friday morning at around 10am...I will be going through London towards the M40....If you can meet me on route then you are more than welcome to hitch a lift to the Wedgefest, Unfortunately i have too much to do to go off route..

I can send you details of the room bookings but you must decide soon as i only have one left...

Cheers

Ziga

PS: I only pass on information that i gather from other people who have a lot of experience with either fixing the Wedge or knowing someone who has...This extends to parts...Sadly there is a lot of mis-information out there...

Won't be able to come to Breda the 26th (my birthplace).

I will get plane to London the 8th, arrive 7.20, so can use tube or bus with ample of time, suggestions? Can help you with if you want. (more hands make light work).

Leave again sunday evening, so pleased lift fridaymorning, room 8 and 9, book and shirt/cap big size, love BBQ and good beer, cider if no strong beers. Let's have fun?

Probably after the meet go to tasmin on sunday, after seeing all the wedjes I have best impression what's around and best for me, maybe lift direction of Wales?

Think you all so far.
