no filling plug on lt77 box ?
Discussion
Sorry if I am telling something you know, you are looking for a 1/2" square stud on the drivers side of the box, and will need a good 1/2" spanner or a Stilson wrench to remove it.
The box takes just short of 2L of oil. The additional litre quoted on some sites is for the extension case that is not on the TVRs.

If I'm not mistaken the TVR S 2.9 doesn't have a filler plug either because I used to own one and I remember having this problem. I'm not sure what box is fitted to those but I was told the oil in there was for the life of the box.
Well, there is only one thing for it. Turn the car upside down and fill from the drain plug
Tony. TCB.

hi , yes seen that but thought not to touch as could have spring/pins for mechanism underneath as have always in the past filled up by square headed bolt on the blank side. Just had a look and can fill thru this hole when gearbox is in the car. Anyway thanks to all for your ideas...........ta like
Looks painty ;^)
Blimey - there's a flat bit where the filler should be! Never seen one like that before.
If you take off that little plate on the top with the two bolts I'm pretty sure any oil put in there will end up in the right place.
You could check by draining it, then put some oil in that hole, and see if it dribbles out the drain.
