Fed up th BT, recommend a decent provider, Plusnet maybe??
Discussion
I'm sick of being charged too much and getting too little with BT.
Today is just the icing on the cake and I've had it with them. Looking at deals I think PlusNet look good value. I hardly make phone calls on the landline and probably could live quite happily without it as I do have a mobile which most people use to call me.
So who should I be looking at cost-wise as well as customer service when things go wrong.
I have two kids who live on the internet so I need unlimited broadband and preferably a reasonable speed..

I have been with Plusnet since 2001, not bad company. They are owned by BT though.....
Back with plusnet - left when I Moved in with the OH, after 18 months with BT we're back.It was and easy move, and much cheaper. My folks are both with them, and even my old man is happy with the tech support.
S.
Used Plusnet for a few years a while back, was very happy with them but got worried when BT acquired them so I jumped ship to Eclipse. Was also very happy with Eclipse but when we got FTTC in our area Eclipse didn't offer an up to 76MB package for residential customers and the look of their website suggested they were pushing themselves away from the residential market and more towards business.
So jumped back to Plusnet since they seem to have been left to their own devices by BT and just as happy as before. Definitely recommended.

One thing to watch with PlusNet - if you want fibre and are too far from the cabinet for their 80/20 package, they will only sell you 40/2 (ie 40mb/s down, 2mb/s up). Most other ISPs do 40/10 (40mb/s down, 10mb/s up) for a very similar price.
I'm in that position, so they provide the 80/20 package for the price of 40/2 Accelebrate said:

You need the landline. Unless you go with VM or a 4G mobile plan (good luck with getting "unlimited" on that), it's what your broadband comes down, so you can't escape renting the physical line because only data travels down it, not voice.I won't recommend the ISP I use as while they are excellent, they don't do unlimited packages. You could try Zen, they have a good reputation.
