What bit am i missing and where can i get them ?

Good old fashioned velco. One bit is glued to the body and the other glued to the inside edge of the hood.

You can get them from any hardware store or internet but dont go to b&q they charge a fortune. I actually used some that had a sticky backing and it worked a treat.

Here's some, Velcro strip.


Same on my S Series, I found the "self adhesive" gave up after a while so stuck it back on with some proper glue... Evo-Stik.;)

Mines got screws in it so i guess the glue lost at some point...

Yep, Velcro.

Bit of flexibility for when the lid is down. I did hear it suggested that a popper could be fitted to help secure when the edge but did not like the idea.

Jeff surely a popper would just waft away in the wind? Especially at speed.

Put the furry bit on the hood and the spikey bit on the body.

I had a similar problem with mine, so it's now pop rivited in.

Think they meant one of those heavy duty stainless types not a party one.......

I ruled it out as it looked like it could cause issues if you forgot to un pop it when the roof was lowered.

The Velcro is still in place on the roof itself but there seems no physical way it can stretch down to the body, picture of other side as well ?

Pressed down, there is a ridge of fibre glass under it.
