Yesterday, you didn't know there was a wedge FB, today you know there are two. The old one and the new one. Just because someone has invited you doesn't mean it's the one to join. Why not join them both and compare, that way you can make up your own mind. Like I said earlier, personally I prefer to move with the times. Out with the old and in with the new. It's your choice.

I'm confused. Isn't the "new" on Facebook actually the "old" on PH?Tony. TCB.
We're going off topic here. I love that green 350i FHC, not because of it's rarerity but simply because I like the look of the FHC and the 350 engine is a bonus. I would genuinely be interested in buying it but the thing that puts me off is that the engine can't be heard running and I never buy any car without hearing the engine running. Unless of course I budget for a new engine. It would really need a body off rebuild and I know someone that may be able to do the job for me, but an engine rebuild in addition would be too costly.

Hi Tony
I would not condemn the engine just like that. It may only just need a good service or maybe a new cam shaft. OK you have to budget for the worst but unless you can do the majority of the work your self, a full resto done on a commercial bases will cost more than an average 350i is worth, unfortunately.
So to anybody wanting to buy this car and to do a full resto, he needs to be a bit handy with the spanners and have the room to do the majority of the work them selves.
Then this could become a very nice car. I hope who ever buys the car does a proper job so its restored so it can be around for at least another 30 years (At least.)

Hi Andy, nice to hear from you again, it's been a while. Yes, agreed, it does need to be done properly and can be very costly if labour is to be included. It is a beautiful car though and I can just picture what it would look like when finished. Let's hope someone capable saves it.

Sold for £2,100. Let's hope it goes to a genuine enthusiast and not a dealer looking to make a fast few pounds.
So what's a genuine enthusiast? Someone who buys a cheap car and then spends their life savings on it, only to have to sell it at a loss because all the other enthusiasts who would buy it are the same sort of person (i.e. want a car cheap)?Dealers are always looking to make a profit, that's why they're in business. If they thought (or were to discover) they couldn't make any money then they wouldn't touch the cars, and in fact I've seen this over the years where garages won't touch TVRs at any price because they've been bitten, usually by some dodgy tt off-loading a car that they know has problems.
Hi
Well it will please a few people, it was not me, I had set a £2k limit on my bid for it, as it sounds like the car needs a total body off resto, plus a possible engine partial strip, so I had set that limit.
So I wish the new owner good luck and I hope he does a nice resto on it and look forward to seeing it when its back on the road (Unless it goes abroad.)

Hi
(Unless it goes abroad.)
Wouldn't altogether be a surprise if it did; I read somewhere that (IIRC) Holland has a ready market for cars like TVRs with separate chassis so they can throw the bodyshell away and fit some replica shell to it - Cobras being popular.(Unless it goes abroad.)
One wonders at what point someone will start making replica TVR shells as there are no originals left

Because life's too short. I have PH, the TVRCC and the old/new FB group. That's as much as I can handle esp when I also have Alfa groups to keep up with as well.Tony. TCB.

Hi Ian
Its funny you mentioned Cobra replicas, there was a Wedge chassis for sale on the bay a week or so ago which had been shortened so a Cobra replica body could be fitted.
Andy
Shortened! Jesus, I hope the welding was better than on some outrigger repairs I've seen Its funny you mentioned Cobra replicas, there was a Wedge chassis for sale on the bay a week or so ago which had been shortened so a Cobra replica body could be fitted.

From what I can remember from looking at the add, they had cut the tubes half way along the chassis and removed about 10 inches out of the tubes. It looked like they had sleeved the areas were they had cut them and then they had welded them up, it was a trailing arm chassis. It was only a week or so ago I saw the add but I can't find it on f-bay now.
