I rarely post but thought I'd let you know another 350 is back on the road.

I've owned the car for 2 years and have been slowly going through it replcing brakes, ball joints etc as well as rebuilding the steering rack and complete engine. It's been an unnessarily slow process so in order to give myself a kick up the backside I booked it in for a 'look see' mot to find out what still needed to be done. Happily it passed (slightly surprised) and with no advisories.

There's still plenty to do but I'm glad to be saving a car that previous owners had badly neglected.

BBWF is now firmly in my calender.

Cheers

Graham.

Well done that man. Got any photos of your car? We always like to see photos of our Wedges.

Cheers. Keith

Well done as it's always good to see a TVR back on the road and it's looking good

Good is often followed by bad, in this case my bonnet release cable has become detatched with the bonnet locked shut. Is reaching up from below the only way to release the catch or is there another way?

Well done on the MOT...Not 100% as regards the cable though...Can you see the mechanism?

No, I can't see the mechanism. I think I have 2 options: from below but that will be far from easy or go fishing with a coat hanger through the very small gap in the corner. Time to check the bible and web etc.

Mmmm...I have a slight gap between my bonnet and bulkhead and mine is a series 2 350i...Has the cable snapped off the mechanism?

It's totally disengaged. I had to dury rig something for the mot but when I when I got home and tried to open the bonnet to fix it it gave way. Research suggests coat hanger. Happily I've remembered I have a boreoscope which should throw some light on the problem.
