Ahh ok wicking up over the seal by capillary action then, pull it up and stick it down with ccntact adhesive but down't wait for it to get tacky first, just to seal the seal. As it were.

The edge of the carpet will be held in place by the seal so will the water still wick up into the carpet?

I seem to remember reading something years ago about cutting the door seal at the bottom to stop this happening. Maybe someone with a better memory than me can remember.... Cheers Steve

New (and bloody expensive) door seals arrived today so hopefully they will solve the door leaks.

The leak onto the transmission tunnel appears to be from the bottom joint on the heater housing (right side). But how the hell is water getting in there? It's definitely rain water and not coolant.

It's now also decided the start leaking from half way up the tailgate seal.

This is driving me round the bend! weeping

Will this stop rain getting into the heater box?

Who knows! Fingers crossed.

No it didn't!

Next attempt was a rubber 'P' section stuck to the top of the scuttle.

This stops water running down the front of the bulkhead and channels it into the corners. On the right sifde I've fitted a little hopper to take the water away to try and reduce the standing water in the area under the washer bottle.

Only the door seal leaks to fix now with a new and more expensive type of seal which means I can finally start the re-trim.

Hi Joe

Yes it was a good show, its the third time I have done this one and its getting better each year the TVRCC do it.
It was great seeing a lot more fellow wedger's, there this year and talking to them and some of the tales they say are so interesting. With some real questions about which other events during the year will I be doing and which cars will I be taking to those events.
Well this coming Sunday at Burghley is the first and the plan is to have at least 6 of my wedge collection there, there will be more if I can get some more friends/drivers to help. (I am having a testing session with a couple tomorrow.) Burghley is a great blast of 35 to 40 miles and back, to give the cars a good run for the beginning of the season. Burghley really is a local show and the plan is to do more this year than ever, including even going up to Manchester for the Footman James Northan Classic Car Show in the Autumn. I did the Western one in February (In Somerset.)

Not until you've driven it in the rain, that sends water in all different directions wink
