As per the title, I'm just about to pull the trigger on a wheel refurb and am torn as to which way to go dark or silver ?
The chassis is gunmetal grey and wishbones are black but the paint is China blue.

Have never owned a TVR , but on all cars I've owned , any refurb reflected the colour used when the car was new. Also wheel design!

Not keen on dark wheels on dark paint myself...black wheels on yellow look nice though.

Silver/light grey of some degree on blue for me.

I have a set of thise Compomotives, and I went with champagne centres. Although the car is red.

Ask me in a few weeks. My tuscans midnight blue and I think I'm going to go metallic black or black chrome.

Yep that's black chrome. It should add more depth to the wheel than standard gloss black. Still need to find out whether the powder coaters can get hold of it.

I've pulled the calipers apart and they should be going this colour blue.

To match the 12 o clock marker on the steering wheel

Here's black spiders on a dark blue Tvr. Looks very stealth bomber. Its not going to be to the purists liking but I like it.

If the car is a bit special, make the wheels a bit special....blue Subaru yellow wheels...could work

.....I like yellow wheels wink

Here's gloss black on a blue car. Defo a bit stealth.

Actually fancy and will probably get my 17" road wheels done in the shadow chrome.

Try these guys, I used them recently for the Vixen wheels, first class job and very reasonable.

IMHO totally agree with the above, but must be silver, even more so on original size wheels with the large profile tyres. Maybe if on large wheels with low profile tyres then could go for a darker color.

Think once you start to move away from the classic look on one item the rest of the car just starts to look dated
