Have you got a hole for the other side headlight?
I have a FHC which has the headlights fixed with the mounting bracket on the floor instead of on the wall of the headlight hole. To get these headlights up you have to use a small/thin screw drive up a very small hole into the bottom of the motor to raise the headlights.

Embarrassing to admit I have this problem too.. frown

Been looking at it a bit today with no luck.

Need to figure out what fuse /relay is which .. as my SEAC seems to be different from all others.

Are you quite sure it's not the glass sticking on the front of the pod housing?

...Or the plastic headlamp finisher becoming detached and 'wedging' under the nose cone. Happened to me last year.

Can't get it up at all now. Well it popped up once but I was going up and down so fast I didn't stop in time and I lost it. I'll have another go soon but my wrist is getting sore

Why not cut a access hole with a hole saw.

I'm sure a few of us can post pictures.. but the main purpose is that you gain easy access to the nurled nut on the bottom of the lift motor.

Top marks Sir! I did indeed have a very tight hole which allowed me to get it up.

Bit manky in there but appears functional and no evidence of anything fouling.

So any suggestions as to how to proceed?

Now you have got it up, I would first clean it all up and then see what you have left, at least a paint job. Ref the reason for it not going up, I would say its either a relay, diode or the motor, and now you can check on them all.

I found my hole once I cleaned my brackets up. The nearside one was a bit rusty.

The offside had a replacement bracket made, apart from no hole being drilled in it for the screw driver. So a drill up the hole and through the bracket job done.

Nice work. Funny when you manually lift the light, then reconnect the battery it lowers perfectly. Just won't go back up again! Will have to get a proper rummage in there and see what's what.

What was wrong in the end- the motor mechanisms had gone out of sync. I am guessing maybe I operated the lights (flashed maybe?) and a sticky relay possibly led to a delay in the speed of erection between the 2 sides.

So the moral of the story is make sure you are fully erect before adjusting or twiddling with any knobs.

....... It's all to do with the position the lifter was in when the power is cut off so if your lens is getting stuck the poor little things has got confused.
