Not sure the rust on the discs indicates anything. Discs on my daily look rusty within a couple of hours of washing the car.

Yep washing causes surface rust in most discs especially if cheap wheel cleaner has been used.

The harmonic balancer being rusty is also not uncommon and not a sign of poor maintenance prior to my recent rebuild mine was very rusty and had been rebuilt previously too.

Agreed. I also think that "wheel" is a pulley cover made of some low grade tin from memory of last time I had the main bonnet off, sure mine's the same but nowt wrong with the chassis. 2003 is the notional point of the factory starting to use the correct engine bits so not necessarily a rebuild certainty.

All that said it's still bonkers money from a non-specialist who doesn't know the market. A bit like the same colour one that recently went to auction after years at a ridiculous price with a Yorkshire car supermarket.

FFS - 2003 and don't buy unless its had a rebuild!! How much do you want to drag out this nonsense. My 2002!!! Speed Six Cerbera never missed a beat except for a flat battery. Can't say the fact my Sagaris has a Speed Six engine keeps me awake at night. 12 years old and big 12k service showed all is well with the goes bang every week engine.

There's quite a few Tuscans in the Pistonheads classifieds with low mileage at eye-watering prices:

Is this the one that was at Motorcraft / Motorhub for a couple of years that went to auction?

Or am I mixing cars up?

ETA Just found the ad. I am pretty sure the Motorhub one had a red leather steering wheel.

What, what chaps, there's a mass deletion of the original top comedy posts. Where have they gone, I was enjoying those.

Your not having a "did I really say that" moment are you Tony.

Just wondered Tony whether you'd sold up and were looking for another.

I wouldn't be too hard on any particular outfit. What your describing is the business of used car sales. Aswell as making the punters dreams come true they're making they're own.... and why not it's a business. The fact is, it's supply and demand. The suns out, and If 50 people in the universe right now are looking to buy a Tuscan and there's only 20 advertised on Pistonheads the prices will only go one way.
