Well I never thought I would see this car again but she has been unloved since I let her go in 2013, some crazy things have happened to her but not a bad project for me as I just need to right the wrongs that people have done, they really need to stay away from these!

So some joker has removed the capillary probe for the rad fan switch and wired it to the switch I had for the EPS on the dash, god knows what has happened to that as it is not working so fairly heavy steering, the wheel caps were missing, found some of those, the interior is as was but worse, thankfully the work I had done to the trailing arm, rear bearings, front bushes, steering rack etc is all still good and solid.
Just wondering if anyone knows what the seat runners in a Wedge were from, iirc it was a ford part, the runners have been removed from the SX Nissan seats that I put in...honestly...welcome back Delilah...

I'm sure you'll have it looking great again soon. I don't really understand how people can wreck a car that they've paid for.

My car is rough but everything I do to it improves it, not the opposite. When working on it I spend so much time fixing bodges and bad workmanship. Annoying.

It's great you're now ULEZ exempt, there might be an increase of classics in the city.

Thanks Roy, there is a chap who lives quite near who just purchased a really nice white FHC 280i...smile
It is a shame that the Sausage meet at Greenwich does not happen any more, others being forced to sell their TVR's..I think I may need some unleaded heads as the unleaded will be fazed out at some point...your FHC is starting to come along nicely, as you say most of us try to improve not wreck these beasts, I know I made a drama out of the 280i but I do love them smile

Well done Mark. You’ve always loved that car and now it’s back home and qualified as an ULEZ. I’m sure you’ll get it back to its original glory in no time. I’ve been looking for a suitable wedge for a while now as I too am in the zone. I would really like a fixed head as I’ve never had one before but most of the ones I’ve seen either need too much work or too expensive. I’m glad you’re back, enjoy. ;-)

Thank you all for the kind words...I guess it is meant to be, I did look at a couple of FHC's as they are so cool, but a bit out of budget and at least I know what was done on the ole girl, mainly the fuel system and the trailing arm set up, front end bushes, ball joints, PAS rack rebuild, 4-pot AP brake upgrade, someone has kindly had a new roof fitted so I am doing the decent thing and have gone back to trimming, starting to look nice...Got a fellow Wedger helping to sort some electrics that have been messed about with out and just waiting on the DVLA pulling their fingers out so I can insure her and say..."ULEZ...up yours...Road tax...up yours...MOT's...up in the air...just in case biggrin

She has had limited miles on the rebuilt engine so thats good...may need some unleaded heads, maybe a cam and some big valves but absolutely no forced induction, and she sound horrendous...biggrin

Cheers drink

Hey up Mark... long time no hear.

Regards your seat runner query, I don't think they were Ford as the seats were made by Cambro in Coventry who supplied most of the British car industry that wasn't Ford - Henry liked to keep everything in-house where possible.
You can improve on the one-sided latch by using the runners from a Maestro which latches both sides; just need to cut a couple of inches out of the tie bar and weld the ends together as the TVR seats are narrower.

Ian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, you're one of the few that I have missed of the posters that have gone MIA over the years.

When someone drags up an old thread and I see your name I always sigh.

Anyway, have a look at the first 40 seconds of this video.

Good to see you back man.

Bloody hell John (at least I think I have that right, the old grey matter is a bit holy these days), you'll have me embarrassed. Not sure what I might have posted to elicit that reaction, you sure you aren't thinking of someone else?

Watching that clip reminds me that I used to ride a Katana... biggrin Still hauling a Pan Euro around, should really find something a bit lighter but as long as I can heave it off the sidestand it'll do.
How hangs it? Still leaving the starship Enterprise for dead on that R1 of yours? rofl
