Sadly - there was a bit to much to concentrate on to take video footage.

Well done Alan.

Will you get in properly set up on some rollers before the fest?

Mine will not be ready but I should have a rolling chassis with body bolted back on.

See ya.

Not sure .. it's the father in laws 80th on the same day ..

Rolling Road is not an issue as my mate has one but running it in, MOT and insurance is more of an issue right now. We will see where we are in a few weeks.

I hope to finish off the clutch - cover plate is on and friction plate centered - just need to gather strength to start jiggling the box back on then fit all the other bits back on.

Also need to finish the sodding jeep - had the driveshaft off this eve and the UJ I ordered was the wrong size so had to put it back together. Hope to get the correct one tomorrow if there is stock anywhere in Cambridge.

Well having despatched Zig's new alloy bits I found myself in the mood for some more wedge customisation. So I sat in the cabin and pondered which bits I could remake in alloy... scratchchin

I've got a plan, and it's as hot as my pants! biggrin

Spend most of the weekend in the shed - clearing it out to get to my old engine.. just to take off the old
oil pressure sensor as the new sensor starts at 100psi and goes down rather than up.. also mounted a load of tools on the garage wall as its stupid having nice tools in packets on the floor.

Finally some work on the car - throttle linkage between the two banks of TB's was bad, with no tickover. So rearranged it all and it's much better now.

Finished running in the cam .. 25 mins at 2500..

Cleaned off several years worth of bits off the wedge roof and spoiler.

Shock horror - the 530 SEAC lives and drove out of the garage under it's own power..

Removed perished fuel hose from swirl pot to fuel pump. Very badly perished. New hose wrong size so will have to wait a day or to to finish but bought a pre filter from RT Racing to stick inline when i do.

I gotta mess about replacing my fuel filter / pump soon. How'd you get the hose off without leaking fuel is there a handy trick for that or.

I just made sure there wasn't much left in the tanks although i still drain out two gallons!!

I undid the pipe at the fuel pump end first and quickly pulled it off and stuck it inside a handily placed gerry can. There was a little spillage but it soon evaporated. Once empty i pulled off the swirl pot end. You may find a little residual fuel here but not much.

Now you have me thinking should i replace the 'after pump' fuel filter whilst i'm down there? Do you know where i can get the correct type?

I think the filter after the pump is a Jag part.
It's a service item so yes you should change it.

Make sure the pre-filter will flow enough without any pressure, your need a coarse mesh (normally brass) filter.
You can use any just about any injection filter after the pump as it will be under pressure.
