Engine / ECU wiring loom is closer to completion.

Will pop up youtube video when it's running again - hopefully it will run much better now.

Also about a 1/3 or the way through building the airbox for the throttlebodies as I need some air filtration.

Just fitted a new middle box to the Range Rover, ready for MOT on Saturday.

All was going great until I tried to get the rear rubber hanger back on. Had to use a 5" G Clamp to pull the brackets together. Worked great until the rubber slid on the fecking G clamp slipped off; falling 10 inches and ttting me in the forehead banghead

Re-furbed steering rack, new TREs and new ARB bushes was last weekend - geo check this week.

This weekend was fitting the shiny new ARP stainless manifold bolts to my one stainless manifold. Aside from not corroding like the ordinary steel ones have, they have 3/8" hex heads rather than 14mm hex heads, so more clearance for the spanners. Nordlock washers as well to prevent loosening. The other side stainless manifold arrived last week, so will be changed at some future point.

Had a mate do a through valet of the golf gti inside outside wash and poish, clay bar and wax for £30.Bargain.

Cleaned the SLK 55.

Fitted the engine bar wiring loom - it looks very professional and subtle, managed to get the ecu connector through the bulk head, coil pack connectors attached and routed, thermostat temp sensor connected and made more progress on the airbox. All looking good for fire up in a few weeks.

Airbox taking shape

Watch the English team loose to Australia and celebrated the mother in laws 81st birthday.

Pictures later.

Morning Paul.
What seals / gaskets did you use for this job ? my diff seems would benefit from having it done in the not to distant future.

+1...Hopefully its just my front one leaking a tad...On a different note if you do have a leak..(Dependant on the amount of course) then its worth topping it up every six months...As well as gearbox and greasing ALL grease points...Inc doors...

I get about a penny size of diff oil drip out whenever i park up after a run...In six months it needed just over a pint!...

Alan,

Had you considered using ignition wire separators:

https://www.google.com.cy/search?q=ignition+lead+s...

I use them on every engine install.

Hi Leigh.

No but they match the Wildcat head and would not fit a rv8 head.

NP, its mainly because there design seems very simple, everyone's else's designs seem over complex.

Been thinking of making my own, now I have a DRO. but the simpler the design the better for me.

My door glass is here so I know what I'll be doing - I have already identified an inner tube.

As it turned out inner tube not needed as the original rubber was in good nick and re-used. Also rustproofed the channel

It took a while to figure out how to get the new glass in - turns out you put the pointy end in first, and engage the front slider on the lifter, then put the glass in on the cock to line up the rear slider. It might be a bit bodgy but it helps to open up the lower channel to get the slider in, the slider won't pop out later because the glass is resting on it.

Also sorted out the loose propshaff bolts and loktited them this time.

Hands are unusually greasy for two relatively clean jnbs!
