As it turned out inner tube not needed as the original rubber was in good nick and re-used. Also rustproofed the channel

It took a while to figure out how to get the new glass in - turns out you put the pointy end in first, and engage the front slider on the lifter, then put the glass in on the cock to line up the rear slider. It might be a bit bodgy but it helps to open up the lower channel to get the slider in, the slider won't pop out later because the glass is resting on it.

Also sorted out the loose propshaff bolts and loktited them this time.

Hands are unusually greasy for two relatively clean jnbs!
I've allways used nylocks on the Propshaft botls and not had any come loose, even on the racer. I use all metal locking nuts on the disc's as found nylocks can melt if the disc's get hot.

Got the diff and the rear brake shoes on on Saturday. Today was supposed to be rear suspension but trailing arm pins that arm different size and shape from the originals has brought me to a halt, see "new trailing arm pins" post.

These are nylocs but they have been off before so I suppose ny but not so much loc. Yeah same here normally on my previous wedges they stay on but the 400SX keeps loosening them, especially after dumping the clutch, for some strange reason...

Had a little drive today and the propshaft vibration on the overrun is all gone so job's a good-un.

Spent a few hours fiddling with the alternator to fix the charging problem, and an impromptu oil change, well it was due and the oil leak had dropped a pint or so out.

Despite the fact that the oil level was at the very bottom of the dipstick below the "low" level, there was still a whole 5l in there, just goes to show how much of a safety margin the dipstick levels have.

Surely things other than car stuff goes on in garages?
We kept a pony in ours when my daughter was riding.

I should imagine that in some garages more than car stuff does go on but its probably too explicit for PH...Mind you if it involves ...Regular fettling, Fumbling around in the dark, Swearing, Sweating and loosing a bit of skin off your knuckles then it belongs in here....smile

And it was me who had to muck out every morning.
There was definite fumbling, swearing, and sweating.
