Sort of
The new bracket uses the 3 holes the old AFM was bolted to, I'll take a better picture over the weekend.

well it's not the weekend but I lost the exhaust bung (for the AFR sensor) AGAIN so I had to bodge up a cover for the hole and secure it on with a jubilee clip. Should be OK for a few days unto the new bung arrives.

Next time I'll wire lock the bung to stop it undoing.

More or less how I did it:

I took the Jag AFM off later whilst trying to diagnose a running issue that turned out to be the ignition trigger coil in the distributor and never got round to refitting it. On the BBWF rolling road in 2010 the car made 256bhp with the standard AFM fitted so I rather thought there was little point in further messing with the Jag unit!
Mark Adams told me (at the first 'Fest I think) that the Jag unit would tend to make most 390s run lean unless properly set-up.

Hi Ian,

Yeah it was running very lean as it came off the jag, I've had another fettle this afternoon and got the AFR somewhere near. Must have reduced spring tension by close to 20 notches. As you say it's probably overkill but the original airflow meter caused a very rich spot just off idle I've replaced the intake elbow and tiny airfilter while I'm at it.

Been busy replacing the head lights in the SEAC, the car has the oblong style not the round version.
Had to make the rear ajustment frame as there is no direct replacement for this head light version.
It may have been easer to change to 7" round type hehe.
I still have the covers to mod to finnish off the look, also make a new perspex cover out of 4mm, much better than the 2mm stuff ive used in the past and now working on tweeking the front grill.

Taxed and wedged to work....
Was Running super rich at idle (adjusted by AFM bypass) and a bit rich midrange but seems to go OK, probably needs AFM spring moving back by a couple of notches. I'm Going to connect the innovate next weekend so I can log Throttle position / Airflow & AFR against RPM than go find a decent hill.

Hi all,
I put my hood stays on which I recently got back from the powder coating shop. Refinished one driving light ring and reassembled it.
and put one newly recovered seat in the car so I can bring it back to my shed to work on it next week. All newly recovered interior to go in except for the dash which is the next step

Well, it's on, and it goes round and round, and the tensioner pulley is now at a respectable height.

Only probalem is you can't get a Gates Powergrip belt in that size, so it's a matter of how long the Optibelt will last - I'll post again in 20,000 miles time ;^)

Plenty of unburnt hydro carbons in my garage.. loom is jury rigged for now .. with cables running thru the windows.

It now ticks over and revs.

Sadly I was at work when it all happened but looking forward to more progress.
