What's happening in your garage this weekend ?

My plan to attack the damaged wiring to the fuel pump was thwarted by my trolley jack not fitting under the car... Luckily, it only appears to be the insulation to one wire being damaged (the wire itself is intact), so managed to get some insulation tape around it for now to protect it from the elements (and shorting) as an interim fix. Low entry jack now on the list of things to buy!

Rick a plank of wood is cheaper - just drive the car onto it for an extra inch higher. (Mine has chamfered edges so I can just push it on).
Yes, thanks Adam. My garage is at the top of a reasonably steep driveway, so I'd like to make a horizontal platform that I can drive out on - if that makes sense? A job for warmer days though!Apart from a drive out to the Cotswolds in the morning in the 350i to collect 122 spare TVRCC Sprint magazines going spare, my plans are to refit the sump on the 390, fit new oil filter and refill. Then drain gearbox, flush it several times and then refill with Mobil 1 and Moly. If no obvious oil leaks then give the whole car underside a bloody good clean.
Re-wired the near- side indicator/sidelight. The old wiring was pulled out by the light pod lifting. Had a couple of annoying noises coming from the steering , so I checked fluid level and tightened drive belt , this seems to have cured one, the other which is a loud squeeking noise when turning the steering wheel either way,I have traced to being in the engine bay , I will jack her up tomorrow , to take a closer look. Replaced the LED in the fan over ride circuit, this promptly blew like the others. Not sure if I bought a dodgy batch of LED's but now on the 3rd one in 6mth's. So checked wiring, which all looks good. this is as shown in the bible. Washed and polished.
Some good progress on the Wildcat SEAC project this weekend..
As usual. It's 2 steps forward, one step back.
Airbox all fitted and cables, return springs etc all working well.
Rev counter jury rigged, configured and now fully wired in .. working well, which is nice.
Other big task for today was to find the source of the transmission noise.
We found it .. my new removeable gearbox mount had made the box slightly higher and is rubbing slightly on a gearbox linkage plate .. quick bash and its no longer an issue .. thin stuff bends ..
Back to another job - putting a load map on the car .. so following video was us doing that. Car sounds much sweeter than the video suggests as the camera seems to pick up the harsh sounds and the ear seems to ignore them but it does have a harsh cam (M256) so its never going to be a pussy cat. Car war run in gear with slight brake pressure applied. Rear wheel removed as it rubs on fuel tank when jacked up..
This is a bit of an MOT map - so is a bit leaner than is idea .. but we can just change map files.
Something those running 14cu and 14CUX can only dream of..

The step back was an oil leak on the valley gasket and one stuck rear brake calliper ... PITA
