Been doing a bit of research in the evenings while away from home this week.

I have a 4 gas analyser and will try and set fuel and ignition for the zero load map sites for the mot and fast track the other jobs needed for the mot. Guess I probably need to refit the bonnet.

Need to adjust the window channels on mine - I replaced the front ones with another pair from another 350i I had had blasted and powdercoated.
But as the buggers hand-built the cars and everything is of different dimension, the windows are a bit sticking at the moment. Need to create a bit more spacing at the top end, and also move the bottom end outwards on the back channel so that the lock tab won't hit it.

Fiddly stuff, but not too tricky.

Note to people - the triangle bits the mirror pods are mounted to rust badly. And the mirror mounting bolts rust like things that love to rust. Stainless bolts for the mounting and waxoyl / stickier stuff for the triangle sheet metal should prevent nasty surprises later on...

Also, need to finally connect the wires for the new (*cough* E30 bits from fleabay *cough*) mirror actuators. The mirrors work off-car, but need to be tried with the wiring in place.

Hi mate

Thanks for that heads up...It could explain why my O/S mirror pod is a bit wobbly, the plan was to just tighten the bolts...however it is 30 years old...smile

Cheers

Third scrumpy cider nailed. I'll race you Glen..... no Wedge work for me. Collecting Audio estate tomorrow after using the 350i as the daily driver for the last 5 weeks. I'm now on first name terms with all local fuel station staff. Hill walking Sunday, playing bouncer at court hearing for nieces messy divorce Monday and business trip to wrong side of country Tuesday.

Spent most of the day putting my newly trimmed dash back in the 350i in preparation for Woodwork 2017 in 2 weeks.
