Think the community needs to be re-'badged' to the 'wedge restorers'. Seems everybody is undertaking nearly body off, or a rolling restoration! Perhaps we can find out the percentage of wedges owned, and undergoing 'thorough preventive maintenance' and compare this with other classics. Probably we are in the top 3 then ....

Ha ha, yeah it does seem that the Wedgers will do more to keep there cars on the road than some. It doesn't seem to matter how much the cars are worth either with owners spending much more than that on rebuilds.
I think my car is going to be off the road again soon for its next major refurb. Just been making a list which involves removing the body and getting the chassis re-powder coated or galvanised. The outriggers are more weld than metal now, so would like to do the job properly. Will need to save some money first anyway. Then its going to have new bushes all round, new UJ's, new exhaust, new manifolds and a front end respray where the accident damage is showing through. Will also be a good oportunity to have all the other chassic stuff painted, like the wishbones, springs etc. The shocks are koni adjustables which have probably been on the car 15 years or so, perhaps longer. I have no idea whether they even work or not!
Oh well, busy times ahead!

Amazing Dan! Your car looks new compared to mine. But can imagine your thoughts, as the owner you always spot something you want to do. Personally I am trying to do a 'rolling' restoration and only do a body off when I buy myself a second TVR. And yes, that is very wishfull thinking at the moment.
Got myself a stainless steel exhaust a couple of months ago, new inlet hose, side lights, but will only start fitting all this stuff when the garage is built, as in being fed up with working outside in all types of weather.
And are planning to replace the camshaft for several years now, but still haven't bought one (Kent 218) with all related stuff, except for upgraded distribution gears and chain.

nothing to do with TVR but this is what's happening in my garage at the moment, when it's finished i'll start working on the TVR again.

No plans to put a supercharger on to the 2CV (=French for 2 BHP...., taxwise)? Must be able to get to 42 BHP out of it, and blow it up in 15 minutes ;-).
Nice to see people still working on 2CVs, as not many around on the road. Seems they only canibalise the remaining few for 24hours duck racing. And as mentioned before, the ride is very good (even keeps eggs in one piece - until you hit something hard and die with your non-broken eggs).
