After a few hours cleaning and chopping off the top part of the housing so they will now fit the flapper fuel rail.
Exactly how I did it: circumcise with a junior hacksaw and remove the plastic surrounding the steel core. Then attach new length of fuel hose.
Mine aren't the full-fat Jag ones (though they are from a V6 Jag with hotwire), IIRC they're about 220cc rather than the usual 180cc items... but the dyno says they give me 256bhp at 1.8Bar and if I turn the fuel rail pressure up it's like being thrown off a cliff biggrin

Cheers Ian,

I did wonder what you meant when I emailed you ages ago about the jag injectors but once I spotted the steel part around the filter basket all was clear and I also had the seized one to practise on ! A few minutes with a sharp stanley blade had them "converted". I'm getting a set of new (long) pintel caps to match the "old" injectors along with filter baskets and the short rubber hoses from MrInjector so they will drop straight into the flapper manifold.

The replacements are 0280157 spec which are rated at 214 cc/min which should allow me to drop the rail pressure under 50psi while maintaining a reasonable WOT AFR..

I can't recall the part number of mine but that flow rate does sound suspiciously similar, I thought either 212 or 218cc so 214 is probably the one.

Reasonably constructive day rather than painting the chassis I've drained the fuel system (My gennie now has super unleaded in it - expensive electricity biggrin) removed swirl pot, high pressure and return lines depositing super plus down my arm, up my nose etc. etc. Removed both seats and then started on the body to chassis bolts starting at the front and working backwards. I'm up to the pair just behind seatbelt mounts which I believe leaves those two on each side an a further pair in the boot.

Anyone know if the rearmost inner set of M8 bolts actually go into the shell - I've had good dig about inside under the carpet and I can't find anything that could be a bolt-head in that area ?

The pair that go through the steel plate just by the spare wheel well? They do on mine, the bolts are in the boot. They go through some odd rubber bush/spacers, probably off a milk float or a Hawker Hurricane biggrin

Yeah you have to feel about in the boot under the spare wheel - you will find some bumps in the carpet.

If you look underneath where the centre plate is behind the diff you'll see the matching bolts going through it which will give you a clue as to the location of the heads. You can just cut the carpet and peel it back.

Afternoon - Not got that far yet, those are tonights bit of fun !

The two bolts I'm referring to are the rearmost pair on the inside next to the Trans tunnel, they will be about 6" forward from the inner seat belt mounts. There is a plate that the body is sitting on and on my car the silencer was hanging off these bolts but I can't find them inside the car even though I have found a definite void under the carpet I can't find anything that could be a bolt head, I'll take a pic later..

The nuts came off OK so they won't be a problem It's just odd that the M8 bolt seem to vanish into GRP I guess

Daughters KA serviced and MOT'd today.

That's the Rover done in March, Audi and Wedge done last month, and KA this month.

Time for some driving.

Girls in bed .... Time for some 'me time' in the garage.

Removed the Centre panel again, fixed the FM Ariel to the inside of the dash.
Fitted USB cable to Stereo & routed it back under the arm rest.
Refitted steering wheel with new stainless bolts, emptied 12 months worth of rubbish, old wiring, old stereo out of passenger foot well.

Started car (just to Annoy neighbours) and had a look to see if I can see why she is misfiring .. Alas, no luck.

Refitted Optomate to the car & topped up with Kerry cans of fresh fuel with a dash of redex.

Might take it around the cul-de-sac tomorrow, give her a dust off & a quick detail before her big day next week (MOT)

Shunt in drive train found some loose propshaft bolts. Nipped up.

Also found 1 loose UJ in the nearside driveshaft - will have to sort that soon but stuck some grease in for now.

Took the fuel pre-filter element out ready for a gauze one to go in.

Scraped, passivated and painted some chassis rust with yellow (!) smoothrite. Have yellow bits on my fingers which won't come off. Which bodes well for it sticking on the chassis!

Ah, now I'm with you... I just thought they were hangers for the exhaust system! Try sliding a slim blade in above the plate and see if you can find any shank going up through the floor?

Hi Ian,

After closer inspection I think you are correct, looking down the car they are right on the edge of the GRP so I think they just go through the chassis and the body is just resting on the chassis at this point. Hopefully we will find out for certain later in the week !

Turned the SEAC around so I could work on the front end easier - just started swapping the injectors for 30 lbs items.

Need to drain the oil and water next - to redial the cam in.

Up early. New ARB brackets and bushes fitted with plenty of silicon grease. Returbished Steve Heath drop links fitted, interior trim tidied up, calipers double lock tabbed! Washed polished and blast down the lanes all complete, and for the first time no stupid squeaks from the ARB. Result.

You could wire lock them too!

Just done my nearside inner driveshaft UJ, took 6 hours in all (including a bit of chassis painting) and I'm quite knackered - must be getting out of shape. Needed doing really with the long run to BBWF coming up.

Long run? It's only up the road from you, it's 200 miles from me!
I'm off back to Gosport this week: 320 miles, often in one hit. Roll on my new van... bounce

Well I only do 160 miles a week and it had got noticeably worse from a couple of weeks ago - it had eaten away part of the spider so just caught it in time before expensive damage to the flanges.

Not much... Company that is supposed to be collecting the chassis for blasting failed to turn of due to a breakdown.

The engine crane did get moved as it'e been used to shift a griff 5L lump and I did start the genny to see how it runs on super-plus...
