Week 4 or 5 of a broken toe. Sod all. Not even driving grumpy

Need to change the battery, change the other boot light. Need to cut a larger hole. Pin switch for driver door curtesy light. Small fry compared to many.

Jet washed underside and thoroughly cleaned top side following very wet trip to Prescott yesterday which included driving through about 6" of flood water. Now clean and shiny again.

You know how you look at a job and think yeah, that won't take long... well I thought half an hour to strip each fuel tank back to bare metal and another 30 mins to repaint them.
Four and a half hours later... rolleyes
Still, once the zinc primer is dry I can get them painted... oh I dunno, some shade of satin black biggrin

Bit like a gearbox swap, what could possibly go wrong....

Replace my gear knob with something better to look at. The knob the car came with looks like it was part of a wardrobe!

Also investigate why it sometimes won't tick over when warm. I ran it very low on fuel last week.. maybe it dragged some crud, need to check the filter.

What like this...

Be careful running them low..If you have a filter pre-pump then although it can stop any crud it can also starve the pump of fuel if it gets blocked and then the pump fails...Ziga

Similar! Not nice at all, but I have found better on fleabay.

I'm hoping it's nothing serious, and that a simple fuel filter check & change will solve it. I don't want any Gremlins this close to BBWF.

I plan to do a few minor pre-fest jobs already up on a ramp on one side so I can install the new fuel pre-filter element, and I ran the fuel down to the minimum to reduce spillage (I hope!)

Only lost a few cc's of fuel in the end and new pipe on the short bit too - job's a good 'un.

Also the contact adhesive arrived so stuck down the bonnet insulation (again) and also started refurbing the dash - the veneer had flaked off in big bits so I'm trying sticking it back on then varnishing over to hide the cracks. At least it's the original stuff...

Presume that's with tea and biscuit breaks?

I spent 3 hours stripping window and lifter mechanism from passenger door as it was sticking. Cleaned it all up, new bottom bar (thanks Barrington), new felt window runners fitted, good grease of all the joints, re-assembled and all working beautifully.

Spent yesterday replacing the feed and return fuel lines from the engine bay to the filter / tank, greased the ujs, plus halfway through installing new front speakers after having the seats and door cards re-done. Just need to change the brake fluid before Zolder next week )new front pads last week).
