Not quite a weekend, but it's Thursday, so nearly there!

Been down my garage and have finally managed to finish off various jobs that has resulted in the car being SORN for nearly the last year:
- Rear brakes - callipers, brake pipes, pads replaced
- Handbrake set up so it actually works
- New fuel pump, and all the hoses from the tank to the pump
- Brakes bled
- All other fluids checked/topped up

All that's left to do now before I can take it for an MOT is to find the last wheel nut that has hidden in the garage somewhere!

Busy weekend - removing the bonnet and re-gluing the under bonnet insulation. Fitting a manual over ride for the cooling fan, flushing the radiator, fitting new thermostat and replacing the smaller bore cooling/heating hoses. If I get time then might be able to fit the new fuel regulator too.

Sunday evening update:
Bonnet removed, insulation refixed and bonnet refitted.
Manual over-ride switch fitted and wired to relay - all good.
Ordered heater hoses didnt arrive so no progress on the cooling system.
New boot rubber did arrive though (thanks Mark for the link) and is now fitted. Lets hope is keeps the exhaust fumes out.
FSE fuel regulator fitted and makes a very noticeable difference.
New spark plugs also fitted.

Time for a relaxing bath and glass of red.

Been bizy over yhe last few weeks as the better weather is now with us, ive had the diff off for rebuild with new bearings and seals, oil cooler checked as it was weeping, both tanks out checked and a weep fixed on the right tank and lots of parts poweder coated under neath, the rockers and plenum and heat shield for my air filter.
Ive fitted new hand brake cables, rebuilt the rear calipers with SS pistons and pads, lots of new nuts and bolts all round.

Jobs for the weekend-
Second refurbed hood stay to fit.
New thermostat top hose to fit then run engine up and ensure I don't have a pressure washer under the bonnet.
Steve Heath rose jointed tie bar drop links to fit, following refurb.
Full clean, vacuum, wash polish etc required.
Spend many minutes admiring new brake upgrade kit before giving it to garage on Monday to sort out as I've no bloody time to fit.

Just been fiddling with my blower oil reservoir, I am changing away from ATF onto gear oil to try and slow the oil consumption (if it's seals it should seep past slower).

Also I have noticed my s/c belt got stretched on the way back from the fest so I have fettled the idler pulley a bit to reduce the belt slap. As it's on the end stop. If it keeps stretching then it's new belt time. At least this one lasted a few years.

Re-setting the FSE fuel regulator pressure down a little and double checking new brake discs haven't worked loose. Hoover, wash and polish in advance of the TVR-CC 50th weekend next week.

Not a lot. Just a quick oil change on the Wedge, Valvoline VR1 20/50 and a fram PH2821a (picked up from the local motor spares for a fiver - he says I'm the only one who buys them, and he's got one left for next year)

Bit more work on topless

Water system connected up, clutch piped up and bled, earth leads connected, starter and solenoid connected. Test spin over on the motor fine, fuel, brake servo and oil lines figured out and ordered. First stage of side exhaust set up. going to go for a long exhaust can down the drivers side, to get us under the noise limits and stop ground clearance issues

Bit of progress on my SEAC this weekend.

I remounted my thermostat housing upside down so that 1. It is now lower that the top up reservoir and 2. The fan switch in at the botton and not the top of the housing. 3. Just plain looks better..

New location

Old location

Gotta make some fibre glass sheet to start making the inlet manifold chamber next.

Spent the entire weekend - working on the garage. For 12 years it's been piled high with junk from the house rebuild. With the recent purchase of Smash's 390SE I needed storage for two Wedges so now loads of space. Just need a pit now, or an outside 2 post lift!

Good going Keith, what's the plan with the 390?

The 390 is at a garage in Leominster. It's there as a "filler in" job as and when they have a few spare hours. it's cheaper that way! So far it's been basics - compression test - all good and pots all within 10psi of each other, valve clearances all okay, no bent push rods, timing is all good, vacuum advance all fine, HT leads all good. Next job is a systematic check of each and every sensor with point to point wiring check back to the ECU plus point to point on the injectors. That will eliminate wiring problems. I had a good chat with Mark Adams - he feels it's most likely a combination of ECU and AFM. Although the ECU has been rebuilt I'm a little suspicious that it might not be right. Also Mark said that the AFM on the 390 is modified internally on the spring rates to a standard 350 AFM.

If everything mechanically, electrically, fuel delivery etc checks out then I'm going to send the ECU and AFM to Mark to check and reset/rebuild and then get the car on a rolling road for Mark to have a play with. He did the same on Glens previous 420SE and got 285bhp out of it and all gremlins sorted.

Sounds like a good plan of action mate...On the garage front i say..."PIT"...You can always cover the pit or double it up as a hot tub....Or we could organise a "Mud pit" battle with some horny viking babes....Gets my horn up...I mean thumbs up.....smile

It may be easier to consider one of these http://www.hamercarlift.com/ and you can move it around from place to place when not in use it does stack quite considerably smaller. I have used mine for 10years now

Four jobs for the MoT - done the ARB and the gaiter, just the exhaust to sort out, then the emissions.
