It's alive, all the new bits on, cleaned the block too (just for Wedgie)
And bugger me, it started first time yikes bit of a blow from each exhaust manifold but will sort that over the next few days and set up the timing properly then it's time to start fabricating the supercharger bracket, crank pulley, idler wheel, put the intercooler in, pipe it up, install the ignition controller, Vortech FMU........1/2 an hour should see that lot sorted wobble !!!!!
Might be ready for Easter then!

Things are moving on with the series of 'mods' to the old Tiv, so heres a few pics of whats happened so far.
Part way through the build, new heads and cam fitted

Front mounted ait to air intercooler slotted in ahead of the radiator.

JE modded Jag MAF unit fitted into the slot recently vacated by the expansion and washer bottle and Eaton M90 in position on custom bracket.

Modified power steering pump to operate off the Supercharger belt and blower outlet plumbed in to the intercooler.

A bit more plumbing, fit the crank pulley (when it arrives!) and it will be time for a road test!

Thought it was time for a bit of an udate as the Supercharger installation is just about finished.
Things have been a little slow over the past 6 weeks as some of the modifications had to be outsourced, as cutting and welding the cast Plenum and throttle body was beyond my skills! But providing the drive belt for the Supercharger arrives tomorrow then this weekend could see the engine up and running. wobble

Here's a few pics of the progress so far

well what started off to be an oil change one miserable afternoon in august then went on to be rear wheel bearing replacement, then to Universal Joint replacement, now we have the diff out on the garage floor with reconditioned calipers, new discs and lovely silver framework. My son and i are now beggining to remove engine ancillaries to make way for our tuned 5.0 engine to replace our little 3.5. biggrinbiggrin

Thanks Rev, am using an adjustable 4CU along with a trick fuel pressure regulator that compensates forr boost presure.

Winter project was to get rid of the dizzy and run the ignition from the MS using Ford coil packs..... A few problems were encountered, the worst being that it initially ran like a bag o sh*te and the MS was heating up. Various suggestions, inc some from this forum, were tried, but the winner was swap the wires around on the VR sensor. Fired up and ran like a good un.

First run today since the above carry on. Definitely needs the ignition map sorted out, as it's pinking all over the shop. That'll have to wait as I'm off to work for a while.

I think that's what cheader need to do and remove that AFM.

What supercharger you got on there.

Also you got any picks of the inlet and outlet brackets.

Thanks
Leigh

ok cool,

be interesting to see. you coming to BBWF.

Also is there much benefit with a inter-cooler on a Supercharger set-up. seem a lot of extra effort.

Intercooler is a must, you wouldn't believe how much the SC heats up the intake charge, I also need to fit a much larger alloy radiator as the engine is running very hot when on boost due to the added compression caused by the charger, but hey ho will know for next timewink
