Anyone want a Wedge going.......

How can I put it in a way that is not offensive?
Imagine you walk into a pub, on the right is a guy sitting by the bar on a wooden stool with a wonky leg (the stool not the guy), puffing black smoke from a role up, with a pint of something dark in one hand and scratching his arse with the other while farting – that’s the Wedge.
On yer left is a clean-shaven chap sitting on the sofa, nice suit drinking a fruit juice and reading something intellectual – that’s the Chim.
Now you’ve got to pick a fight with one of them and if you loose he gets to roger you bandy. If the guy on your right got hold of you then you wouldn’t be able to walk properly for days, if the guy on the left got hold of you then you’d smell nice..
Like I say personal preferance
So your saying you want to be buggered by a poof smelling, fruit juice drinking poof then ? .. or your adopting a new image

What was that quote wedg1e came up with a while back...."being rodgered by an orangutang wearing a cheese grater for a condom"

nah, I'm saying if your going to pick a fight always got for the hardest uglyest one first.
i know what yoru saying .. i wont condemn you for wanting a little bit of refinement. you shall ofcourse have to resign your nickname to something a little more limp wristed though, and be forever known as poofta boy
Sorry, seem to have caused a few little tiffs here. Thanks for the comments, love the descrption rawsewedge,very pictorial.
So as I now see it, us Chim drivers are iced lemon water drinking poofs whilst Wedge drivers prefer a big warty, bearded bloke rogering them with a cheese grater. Think I'll get a Smart instead.
Seriously, seems to be that the Wedge is the rorty, no frills hoof it about mobile that the g/f wouldn't live with whilst the Chim is the soft,everyday car that I do use everyday. Now since past cars include Caterham/E30M3/Lotus 7 & Elan/BMW2002Tii/Clan etc and I currently ride a 955cc Bike, you can see where i am coming from (excuse pun). Despite the fact that the Chim is the fastest/best cornering/handing car I 've ever had, I am missing something. Just don't know if g/f would live a wedge,but could just use her car when we go out, usually end up doing that anyway as there s more room for the dog. Keeping the Chim for the minute but thanks for all the help, you wedgies seem a little more humerous than the average (guess thats me) Chimaera owner. Keep hoofin' them motors.
PS is the white wedge that passes thro' Newcastle Busines Park on here, listen out for it every day. Nice.

No comparison. One is a modern TVR with better brakes, suspension, handling, performance, acceleration.
The other is a slow, dated, TR7 look-a-like that makes the driver look like a medalion man. (only kidding you wedge owners!!) Unless you are a wedge enthusiast the Chim is far superior.
And a Chimeara is more modern, better build quality,and faster than any wedge except a SEAC.
I'll leave the real argument to Autocar.....
Model= Chimeara=
Engine Power= 4.0 3950cc
bhp= V8 240
Torque Weight = 270 lbs/ft at 4000rpm
Max Speed = 152mph
0-60 mph = 4.7 seconds
0-100 mph = 12.1 seconds
Wedge= 350i
350 Series I Rover V8 3528cc
bhp= 190 bhp
Torque Weight = 220 lbs/ft 1150 kg
Max Speed 135 mph
0-60 mph= 6.0 secs
0-100 mph = 16.5 secs
350 Series II Rover V8 3528cc
197 bhp
220 lbs/ft 1150 kg
136 mph
6.0 secs
16.5 secs
The figures say it all. Unless you are really into wedges, the Chimeara is the better car all round in every department.
Fast Lane magazine: "Overall, this is possibly the best handling front engined/rear-driven sports car in the world."
I don't recall the motoring press ever having written that about a wedge!!!

Wassup Flash? Got tired of the T350 Forum in fighting?
There's no doubt the Chim is the more grown up car, better built etc. But, whilst it's clear that the Chim is faster than the 350i, I'd reckon on the straight line superiority of a 400se (or bigger wedge). I've had both (in fact my Chim was a 4.3) and I'd say my wedge is quicker up to 70mph. Not by much, and beyond that the barn door aerodynamics of the wedge come into play. (although, there's a thread on here where a fellow with a BMW M3 reckons he was following me in my wedge on the way to Le Mans at 155mph - roof down!)
Mind you, throw in the occasional bendy bit and the Chim would drive into the distance!
As a weekend thrill car, I think the wedge has more excitement than a Chim, especially if the owner likes to "get involved" (aka get oily!)
Welcome back to the wedge side Flasher. Any joy getting the trains to run in this heat?

All the figures are here

I think if you read, you will find that ALL of them are slower to 60, slower to 100 and have a top speed below that of the SLOWEST Chim.
I don't have a problem with wedges at all, I used to own one!! But please don't tell me they are quicker than a Chim. Unless we are talking about Karl Cordwell's 460SEAC which has a massively modified engine....
Not trying to start a row guys, just trying to dispel a few fairytales and get the debate going!!!

Now, there is a wedge I would own. Awesome.

You cannot compare a 4L Chim to a 3.5L Wedge...try the 400se, Now that would be fairer.
As for Chim V Wedge, your right, the Chim should be better built, more reliable etc etc..! It's newer, more modern.
Thing is, I have not seen another Wedge on the road for ages, BUT there are 2 Chim's where i live in my road alone!!!
I for one love the shape, noise and rariety!

Must admit Wayne, I drove my friends 400SE on many occasions and the actual performance wasn't far off my 4.0 Griff until you hit about 120mph when the aero package came into play. The only major difference for me was the brakes which were terrible compared to teh Griff.
As you say a comparison between a 350i and a Chimeara is very unfair.....

Well Mungo a standard 350i is 5 seconds slower to 100 than a 4.0 Chimeara. No modification short of an engine change would make up a 5 second difference.
and the 390SE, 400SE, etc. etc. were ALL slower to 100 than a Chim.
So now you know. Lets face it, if you were having a go in someone elses car or a dealer demo you were hardly going to drive it like you drove your own car, were you?

Yep thats what the figures say HOWEVER, both 4.0 Chims seemed slower than my 350 - They were both cars for sale at Peter Nash Specialist cars in Warsash, they were constantly trying to sell me a 4.0 Chim and always insisted I go out in them on my own and "feel free to use the whole tank up" - You think I took it easy in them?? I nailed them as hard as I could!
They still seemed slower than my 350 - What else can I say?
Anyway, the straight line speed is neither here or there, the 350 was a lot more fun to drive than a 4.0 Chim! Much much much more fun!!!

"seemed" slower???
Of course your 350i was quicker....
And my Ford Focus company car is quicker than an Enzo.....
