Graham,
They look the dogs firkin's. Im like the fact that the brakets have put the calipers central to the centre line of the hub as the standard jobs are beloew centre.
Any chance you could give me the dimension from the bell to hub bolting face to the back/engine side of the disc. Are they 28mm wide? Why? I've got 22mm X 300mm on mine with Alcon race calipers (Latter fitted later) and the Alcons need a 22mm and I don't want to make new caliper mounting brackets.

yes the disks are 304*28mm

i take it the dimension your after is the width of the bell and disk combined ?

well i paid about 1300-1400 with the vat.....
but AP are about the best.

these are race calipers so dont have the extra dust seals for road use. so road calipers will probably be slightly less...

they are very very light....

the 304mm disks and bells weigh about the same as the standard brembo vented i was running, but both 4 pot calipers weigh less than 1 standard thingy....

I'll let you know how they work after anglesey testing this weekend. I hope it doesnt snow...

I made the mistake today of mentally adding up the cost per corner

AP Caliper
AP Disk and bell
Nitron Damper
cutom wishbones
Chassis mods
rose joints
brake hoses

F**K me..

Think I will just have to stand on my pedal a bit harder for the near future!

in my defence these are for racing so i do yuse the brakes a tad more than you would ( and should) for a road car..

For that kit that is a good price to

Graham, you could have bought 2 Cosworth engines for that!!!
I once bought a Hi-spec kit for the Chimaera 520.
When the discs got hot and expanded, they started cutting into the calipers at the bridging part.
Took weeks to sort it out, no refund of postage costs or anything.

that was what they cost but i didnt say i actually paid for them

tested the car at anglesey this weekend about 240 laps and the brakes are fantastic....

I had lots of people contact me about Hi-spec and after they failed to call me back ( even their kit came to about a grand all in for what i wanted)

I went else where and got the parts 2 weeks after initialy contacing AP and them passing me on to BG Developments, poping over to see them with a wheel finding the cash and placing the order !!! and they have to machine the bells and caliper mounts to order.

the parts were also a dream to fit almost fell together...

Ian have you got the 24valver running yet, will you be out for the first round ?

Is there anything to be gained with the various 'style' of disc? are there pros and cons to say:

Grooved
Drilled
Or combo of the above?

I've been told from various sources that you only need grovved disks, drilling i think was originally to remove gas expelled from the pad, but these days pads dont gas up.

look at any race car and they only usually have grovved disks.

the holes can also cause stress fractures..

although drilled and grovved do look sexy

Graham's right. Drilled discs can crack between the holes. I think there is a picture of this problem in Steve Heath's Griff/Chimaera bible.
They also block up with pad debris.

I will be trying the engine in the 'old' chassis this week hopefully.
I bought some bits & pieces from Garry Wilson and got a back body section and damaged chassis thrown in.
Other than a few damaged areas on this chassis, it is better than mine and slightly different (more advanced). So i will be using this.
I will be taking it to be stripped of the old powder coating and rust and then the mods will commence.
I have bought some new trailing arms (1 piece).
The old alloy ones fell apart when i tried to dismantle them. Just as well i am doing a full resto!
So it looks like i will miss Pembrey.

It's thw white one which i don't think has hit any walls yet.
Do the spoilers have the fog lamp moulds etc, and are they a bit wider and deeper ?
If they are then i'll have one.
Just got back frompt car club meeting hence late reply.

Looks ok to me . How can you get one to me ?
Do you go by Team Proactive ? I could possibly get someone to collect and leave you some cash.
