Help chaps please.
What's the best way to a) remove the carpets without destroying the sound insulation and b) the dash and then the leather off the dash?. I want to get the interior down to the base fibreglass to use the car in competition but want to keep the interior to aid resale later.
Cheers,
GB

It all depends on how well the sound insulation has been stuck. If there's been some moisture you will probably find the insulation will come away with the carpet. IMO I would replace the whole lot or in sections where it needs it.

I did when I put in some new carpets, it's relatively easy to do providing you use some good contact adhesive.

When I removed the carpets some of it came off with them, rest was well stuck down and came off in bits. I'm just replacing it all, easier in the long run.

on the taz i stripped down some of the carpet was so well stuck down it came out it little bits. also the sound insulation was even worse and under that there is ally mesh presumerably for radio reception? id have though it easier to just ditch the sound insulation .

as for the dash why not just make a new one up from grp, and leave the existing one as is. im sure yoiu could come up with somthing purpose designed for all the bits and bobs you need rather than hack the real on e?
