Patrick - another local .. things just keep getting
better... hope the rebuild of the SEAC goes OK
and is not too expensive.

Perhaps we locals can all meet up some time.

How's this for an idea - a few people had mentioned a great local road just south of Welwyn - we could meet in one of the pubs on that road .. say on Saturday 25th .. just after midday have a shandy talk Wedges and go for a little blat (choice of vehicles for patrick..) along a great road.. all local Wedge owners welcome..

Absolutely !

Count me in,

If you mean the B1000; the bit from Hertford past WGC is rather good
Hmm, apart from the fact the B1000 is not south, so it must be the B158 ?
Rolling thunder anyone ??

Do you mean WGC or Welwyn Rev ?

Looking good for us Herts Wedges - up to six now if we include Pete Owens 400SE - there are others around too.
Another good meet I go to often is at the "Goat Inn" on Hertford Heath on the 1st Sunday of the month - not a specific TVR meet but allsorts from vintage to supercars - no two months are the same . The Northants region had a gander down there this year - see their regional round in Sprint June 2003.

By the way the local roads around here are fun - you have a bit of everything - you have to watch out on the B158 Northbound - it has a yump/dip on one of the fast corners (which I always try and cut) or I think you will ground out at speed !!!!

Looking foward to a meeting

Definitely interested in a local wedge meeting, but next Saturday lunchtime not looking too good . Will try & get to the next Harpenden meet though.

Cirks, I remember Mark at Tower View talking very enthusiastically about your 4.8, I think shortly after the car went in. Pictures all look fantastic & as for the power curves...WOW!!!

Have to make the next gathering after - don't think the 400 will be ready until the end of November.. (good things come to those who wait and all that)

Ah, that would be about 6 months ago then ;-)
I think a few choice words were said about it while fitting it though!

As for meeting up next Sat - I'd like to but I'll have to see if our 2nd baby arrives before then (due tomorrow!).

Cirks, Good luck on your second coming - I thought WEDGE plus BABY(S) = NO WEDGE - You do know that TVR dont make MPV's
As for next weekend, should be free both days - weather permitting.

about the only thing that would have gone into a formal pre-nuptual agreement if we had had one would have been 'the wedge stays'. Fortunately Debs is pretty understanding...ie it's the one area she knows she won't get her own way!

I know it's rude to ask and none of my d*mned business but how much would this little lot cost somebody looking for something similar?

A few people have raved about the B158 from Essendon to Hertingfordbury... just south from Welwyn Garden City.

Road thread:
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=5061&f=45&h=0

If someone knows - a good pub around there - anyone interested could meet up - to talk Wedges and take a
drive along a great road.

If we said - Saturday 25th October at say 12:00..
who would be up for it.

Of course you're asking how much it would cost to generate an MPEG of their engine aren't you

Um, well, I think Dave and particuarly Mark have learned a lot from this 'one off' so someone else's should be quite a bit cheaper. Although Steve also moved from pre-serpentine to serpentine he hasn't got all the issues that we had with the placement of the airfilters, carbs, distributor, thermostat, oil filter etc etc!!
I haven't dared look at the invoice again since it was finished but will let you know roughly what the actual work on fitting the engine etc cost. The total invoice and labour included brand new front-to-back exhaust, all new hoses, twin fans, etc etc so not all of it was for the upgrade.
The engine was (hope the wife isn't reading this) £6300 (including new clutch) and I would guess that the overall fitting and parts directly associated with it was around another £4k !

I am still up for it if Debs hasn't 'dropped' by then! Baby is now officially 'late'!

I would think just by mentioning that you spent 10K
on your TVR would induce labour ... it would in my girlfriend and she is not even pregnant..!

Hope you will be able to make it.
