Basingstoke Pint and Pie
Discussion
Right. To make things easy. How about:
1) If you want to go for a drive meet AT THE WHEATSHEAF at 10:30 a.m. Leaving at 10:45am - we'll head off towards some quiet roads around Overton and Whitchurch and get back to the pub for around 12:00noon.
2) If you just want a beer. Arrive at the pub around 12:00noon. Quick bit of tyre kicking....and into the pub for a pint. I'm going to have lunch there too...
Sound good?

Great! I'll be at the Wheatsheaf at 10:30, but I neeed to know where it is . Can you post some directons, please.
From M3J7 Heading Towards Basingstoke....
Come off the Motorway. At the roundabout take the first exit. Almost immediately peel off left. Brake hard for a left hand hairpin, down to second, balance throttle gently, GENTLY feed in the power as the wheels straighten get hard on the gas. Realise you are now over XXmph and lift. The two lanes narrow into a single lane road (the A30). Its a very long straight with only a few junctions off it but there is a garden centre on the right and you make your way along it...
Pass the first pub on your right. "The Fox" or something like that. You will then see in the distance a large pub on your right - which is the Wheatsheaf. There is a short deceleration lane to assist those turning right into the car park. Its a tight turn and you have to do it in the face of high-speed oncoming traffic so careful as you turn in...
Park up wherever you find a Blue Chimaera 450. If its pissing down I'll be in the car...if its not too bad I'll be standing around tyre kicking.

B*ll*cks B*ll*cks three times B*ll*cks
I think I have finally found the problem with the Wedge. It looks as though the water pump is nackered. Got two miles up the road on a business trip this morning and the engine overheated. Top of rad is hot while bottom is cold so .
No point in going for a blast in a Volvo is there, so I'll see you in the pub at noon.

Hey - Just seen this - Excellent
I think Zee may be working this Sunday but I might drag the S out of the garage if it is dry and take a spin over to meet you all for lunch.
Cool! Drive at 10:30 leaving at 10:45 or Noon if just interested in the pint/pie/terribly nice New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc We'll look forward to seeing you there if you can make it...
I'm thinking of a route a bit like this... People coming on the drive might want to print it out just in case we get seperated (not likely).
I would rather do the route in an anti-clockwise manner though (I have good reasons - trust me). Point 6 is actually a brief stopping and turning point with a nice view and a photo-opportunity. Sound good?

Ok Don, I'll try and make it down for 10:30 providing it is dry - The S can scare me a little on those lanes in the wet
So if rain stops play I'll see you at the pub for lunch.
Weather's looking good Mrs Zee...and don't worry - its a scenic run - not a drive like a loon run.
I'll organise one of those another time.
I'm KIDDING!
