Wonder what Mrs Doyle will make of that.
Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on,.........
Sounds like he's coming back empty handed - chassis like Swiss cheese, engine like a babies rattle and body needing more paint than something that needs a lot of paint - basically poo even at £5k - I'm sure Father Ted will tell all and Mrs Doyle will say "will ye be having another one Father"

Use a Chimp for every day - my SEAC is a 320gg motor and non-pas & the suspension is as hard as nails(now). If I worked near by it'd frustrate me as I wouldn't use it due to the "do not rev over 2500rpm until warm" sticker and if work was a distance away you'd be knackered when you got there!! A late 450 with PAS may be more useable?

Not wishing to hijack thread.
I love me wedge but I dont think I could use it every day. The lady wife has an MPV for the three kids and dog. I have a large saloon for everyday stuff but its boring. Boring but - quiet heated electric leather airconditioned fast economical. I cannot see me doing the London run from Soton in my wedge. Its seven miles to work that will become three in 18 months time (new building). No fun in that. I bought my wedge as a fun thing - not for commuting. I would like the idea of a late 450 though

okay i've had a few beers, so apologies if i'm a bit lairy
in points noted in order
1) wheels - dull & rusty
2)hood ripped & faded
3)drivers door lines up at front wing but at rear ,goes from 1/4 inch gap to +1/2 gap !
4)front screen de-laminated in corners
5)LARGE stress cracks at headlamp pods (at wierd angles)
6)cracked front spoiler
7)OFFSIDE SILL NOT SECURE - HANGING 1/2 INCH DOWN
8)passenger door gaps as drivers
9)rear bumper poor damage repair (back end bump if door gaps taken into account?)
10)bonnet strut x1 hanging in breeze
11)boot struts not working
12)carpets wet/tatty
13)facia cracked on centre console
14)engine coolant temp, when ran, shot to 120 degrees - judicious use of kenlowe stat got fans working temp down to 90-95 degrees - but never stopped running while engine running
15)1 X wiring loom chaffing on bolt in engine bay
16)alternator light stays on until engine revs applied / volts never went above 11 with no electrical loads applied - engine was slow to crank on initial start after owner had give it a run already (don't like viewing cars that are warm when i arrive anyway
17)nice steering wheel
18)jacked car up - owner said car had been waxoyled - chassis said otherwise - you know when tourists are back from holiday and their skin is peeling all over? try that with plastic coating and rust underneath - apart from the bit protected by the leaking sump / diff of course
19)looking down sills at outriggers - very holy, father - swiss cheese holey
20) maybe the MOT it had got that week hadn't taken into account the structurally insecure outriggers (maybe i'm wrong but assumed this would have been a failure?)
21) got caught in the friday M6 car park on way back
22)broke tooth /filling on a lemon sherbet bon-bon
23)Blaine was late for his halloween party
24)should have gone to see Carl350/Pettsie first
25)tally for work TBCO before i'd have been sleeping soundly? - we made it £4K conservatively
Scrumpy Jack soothes all
p.s. maybe i'm being picky - where's his number again ?

Sorry it turned out to be a lemon - real shame given the cars history.
Re the outriggers, I was told sometime ago that the only part that is checked and fails an MOT is 1 foot in from the front and the same for the rear - found that exceptionally hard to believe, especially if you have swiss cheese syndrome.
Hope the next one is what you are looking for.

...it is a shame when i repeatedly asked these questions;
1)is the Chassis sound?
2)does it overheat?
repeat to fade ...several times over!!!!
It did seem a good catch on description, ask Tasmania he was a keen as I,it 'sounded' the 'mutts knuts' over the phone....and also, being former 'TVR 100' plate it had a bit of provenance
put it down to experience;
never trust descriptions over the phone!
live to buy another day eh?
