Hood adhesive - Best practise ?

On my 350i, I have to tidy up my hood slightly. Its the area where the velcro is glued to the body, near to the windows / door edging. Firstly what is the best way to clean the old glue away, and secondly what adhesive to use to re glue velcro strips.

Spooky, just about to do the same. I have got some wider velcro (how far along the panel does it go?)
and was going to use epoxy?

Somebody also said to try a couple of rivets as well which is what they do on the later cars
