If i were to purchase a Wedge without a boot spoiler (400/450 style),where would i get one ? ...and how much?
I know this may disgruntle some purists, but ,be it a 350/390/400 etc.. i would like to have one regardless.

fear not...i will not be fitting neon lights underneath or LED lights in the bonnet! fluffy dice on rear view mirror however....

Paul,
TET do the standard 450 up and over job at about £160 or I could do you a SEAC one for free but it'd cost you around £100 shipping!!!!.

Blaine,
Yep 2 for the price of 1 but they'd be 1/2 as thick and about as much use as a piece of paper tied to the boot

Ted, if you do fit one, use a synthetic rubber gasket. Natural rubber will degrade quite quickly. Roofing washers on the inside of the lid will help keep the damp out of the boot.

I got a new front spoiler for my 350I from TET, excellent service. If their boot spoilers are of the same quality, no problem.

Got to agree with Pisto. Quality is not the issue, if you like spoilers then go and buy a 400 or a SEAC. They just spoil the 350.

Still think it looks good but are the spoilers any use?
I understand the SEAC's snow shovel were tested?
Also the 390's have a full under spoiler and the 400's partly?
Just asking, be gentle.

Without the fake underspoiler and with the external boot hinges it just looks messy and out of place on a 350. I am not aware that the two 400 style spoilers do anything. The whale tail on the SEAC is supposed to be an aerodynamic aid but I can't see it being much use either, how often do you corner over 120mph?
The under spoiler on the rear of the 390 is real and looks great but for it to work properly a full under tray needs to be fitted. I am not aware that this was ever done so it's probably mainly for looks as well.
The rear underspoiler on a 400 is a fake (look closely).

I understand from Steve H (SHPUB) that the 390 rear underslung job does work but it needed to have some tweaking to the front diffuser - I'm sure Steve will clarify. As for the boot spoiler the SEAC style one does work to an extent at even mild speeds e.g. 60 mph plus - it increases the size of the bubble behind the car. You can notice it but you have to really be trying hard which is usually in track conditions as on the road your usually focussing on other more important things (the traffic not the blond piece - before you ask). Not sure what effect the up & over job does IMHO it's so retro 80's stylie and should only be fitted to a 400/450 IMHO

I'm biased of course, but I think the 350i rear looks fine without attachments :

When the SEAC racer was first out on the track, they tried it without the spoiler, the driver (Steve Cole i think) reported that the the car felt dangerous with out it, but they need to be set quite high at the back to create down force, i would imagine that the SE spoilers are purely cosmetic.

I always liked the spoiler on the 660 SEAC it was much more easy on the eye than the standard SEAC spoiler but at how it performed I dont know.
