So 350i's never had SEAC spoilers Huh!!

I always thought that the wedges without spoilers looked a bit strange - like someone has removed the spoiler..... Wedges are in yer face, loud, agressive looking and lary - therefore a suitable spoiler is required!!!

My adivce is take up tasmanias offer for the SEAC one - it is your (cars) destiny obi wan!!

They never had cats as standard either. I agree with you that if you going to go for one then the SEAC one is the one to go for and Tas's offer sounds good.

IIRC, Steve Heath ripped his 390 rear wing off on a tyre wall and never replaced it. He said it made no handling difference but saved 25Kg. I didn't think it was THAT heavy (but than again maybe the extra weight would be good for traction ?)! It may well be that if it does have any effect, it's at such high speed that it has no practical use on the road.
The 400SE 'wing' amounts to about 6" of aerofoil behind each wheel, since most of the 'wing' is blended into the rear valance and air cannot travel over it. This does lend a lot of credence to the 'no effect' argument, since why would they do that if it really WAS an aerodynamic aid?
I reckon that at least the 390 wing has a reasonable aerofoil cross-section, not just a plank like the 400 boot-top affair. Lots of people (read: boy racers in car parks!) have asked me if the 390 wing moves: I was thinking that with some new brackets and a servomotor, it could be made to; just to p155 them off
A further spoiler that can be considered is the Zender one that extends forward along the boot lid sides.
