Would be interesting to compile a list of Wedges that have appeared in the media - magazines, TV, the 'papers', and trace where they are now.

Also, any 'feats' that have been recorded by the cars.

This would form part of the historical record of these great cars.

Mine is known about ("Fast Lane" magazine June 1985, and allegedly the first Lap Record abound the newly opened 'complete circle' of the M25 in October 1986), and Sprint has been full of them recently .

But what other famous cars are known ... and do you (or did you) own one?

What about those in the TVR books? Allegedly mine is also on page 98 of "Muscles and Curves" (but with a 390SE 'registration' and the later bonnet - which was retro-fitted by the factory when the car was returned by the publishers of "Fast Lane"). It's not in "TVR - The Complete Story" ... and I only have those two books at present.

Over to you ...

My car, the prototype tasmin turbo FHC, featured in its fair share of places.

Books:
The TVR’s.
Muscle and Curves.
TVR the complete story.

Video:
TVR Best of British. (With a bad interview of me!)

Magazines:
Autocar.
Alternative car.

TV:
Top gear. (When it was a program about cars)

If anyone knows about in any other articles my car was in I would be very interested to know.

I have some alternative car magazines with the following articals:-
Tasmin 200 (MFV 895X). Alternative cars Nov/Dec 82
Tasmin V8 (YCK 78Y). Alternative cars Sept 83
Tasmin (BTJ 287X). Alternative cars May/June 82

Does anyone know the whereabouts of these cars (the V8 was in Scotland last I knew) and I can arrange to send the magazines to the rightful owners.

Chris.

My former 1983 Tasmin was featured in Autoweek magazine(U.S.) in the October 13, 2003 edition.
See www.autoweek.com, click on Vintage cars and scroll down to the article about the Wedge TVRs.
It's also been on the cover of SPRINT but I know that
isn't what you were after.
I was also pictured in a 1985 factory 280i brochure in a group shot in front of the factory.
The car is now with its new owner in California.

"Know" about it, or ... "hear" about it?

Yeah Streaky - they do hear it!

It frightens children and makes dogs bark too. I'm looking for a nice tightly packed street so I can set off all the car alarms and be gone in a roar.

They've heard about it coz everyone and their dog on here have said so much about it!

Yaaaaaaaaargh!

My 83 Tasmin was in Dream Machines, the Men & Motors program.

In the info that came with the car there is a copy of a page from a magazine and the pics on the page are of my car. Not sure which magazine it is from or whether a PO has spliced in the pics of the car though. Looks pretty genuine.
